Been driving my Suzuki for 10 years. It's been pretty reliable even with me neglecting routine maintenance

Thank you for this. I didn't think of taking the clips off of the spark plug igniter and this is the best way to do the job.

I think you may mean 2007-2009 (i.e., Chevy). The 2006 models were still Suzuki. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_XL-7 Also, for 1998-2006 models, the Suzuki Service Manual, Volume 2 (for models SQ416/SQ420/SQ625), calls for torquing the spark plugs to 25 N•m (2.5 kg-m, 18.0 ft-lb). No idea what Chevy specs for their engine.
@redonKiLaus7 жыл бұрын
This video is for the Grand Vitara, not the XL7. From 06-08, the V6 GV was built by Suzuki and used the Suzuki H27A engine, but 09+ V6 models did use a GM-derived engine. The final generation of XL7 that was sold in the US (that you are talking about) was indeed quite heavily GM, and was based on their Theta SUV/crossover platform. Sorry for any confusion, but thanks for watching!

You say your GV was totaled Did you get any after photos? If so we would like a video. Were you guys injured? Very curious. That was the cleanest GV I have ever seen. Your impeccable maintenance shows,
@redonKiLaus9 жыл бұрын
+joegolden481 I have tons of after photos that I used for insurance purposes, but I never took any video after the fact, as it was in a salvage yard and I just wanted to snap pictures and get my belongings out of the truck. I do have one photo showing most of the accident on my Instagram account at instagram.com/mc1337sauce. Nobody was seriously injured, mostly some broken toes and lots of bruises. The truck definitely did its job in protecting the occupants. Thank you for the complements, I take care of all of my vehicles the same way I did the GV. It's too bad it got wrecked, I was planning on importing some more JDM parts for it, too. Thanks for watching!

With this same model, I have a P0 420 emission problem which strongly indicates towards the catalytic converter. Is there any it can be fixed without removing the converter? There is an inlet on to top of the converter for some reason. Any ideas? Thanks.

Nope, if you have a problem with your cat(s) then it (or they) need to be replaced. Could be a sensor issue as well, but would need further diagnosis. Thanks for watching!

I mentioned earlier i have to repair the suzuki vitara from neighbors. The car is hesitating badly under load . I was gonna check all electricals and change the plugs . Can wrong plugs cause it to run like a dog as i had this happen to my wife's car ? Just trying to fix the car as no one wants to work on it ( mechanics ) lady has been turned down quite a few times now i gotta do it. Any reply appreciated? Need help with where to start testing to fix this engine!
@redonKiLaus5 жыл бұрын
The plugs can absolutely make the vehicle run very poorly, but generally you will see a check engine light for misfires if it is plug-related. It could also be a bad coil or wire if it is spark related. The reason mechanics don't want to work on Suzuki vehicles (at least in the US where I live) is because Suzuki doesn't supply many of the spares for these vehicles anymore - no parts, no work. If there is a check engine light, using a scan tool to pull codes would be where I would start. Hopefully that helps point you in the right direction!

i have a quest as u touch on the transmission fluid very shortly, i have a 06 that i got of a very close family friend and the owner has passed but she was always on the up and up with doing all the maintenance and since i got it it hit the 150k marker and i did read the manual and i know there is suposto be alot of stuff checked and i had my mechanic check right before when he replaced the valve cover gasket and i think everything is all good but in the 3years i have owned the truck i never changed the transmission fluid nore did it seem lowe but the color is changing on it so i want to get it changed. is the mobile the only brand to use and where do i get it from? i have looked around here and no one seems to carry it. would it be ok to take it to a shop or a oil change place to get it changed? thank you for any help

I have the 08 2.7L, Suzuki dealership was out of their transmission fuild, so they told me to use Motomaster ATF Dexron VI, 946ml, and said there's no difference in proformance. Brought 4 bottles from Canadian Tire, the car have a very small transmission at around 3L. Then I went to Mr. Lube with my 4 bottles, and turns out they have the exact same in the shop, and it was also the recommended written on their manual book.

I’m planning on buying a 2006 Grand Vitara with 7000k on it any advice on what to looks for ?
@redonKiLaus6 жыл бұрын
They're pretty reliable vehicles, you just need to make sure the maintenance has been taken care of on time. One thing that I remember as a common failure item is transfer case seals, so that might be one thing to check aside from normal things that should be looked over on every vehicle. Thanks for watching!

man, my 2007 vitara idles really bad. changed spark plugs, air filter and cleaned throttle body and maf sensor
@kalmirza25647 жыл бұрын
Kevin Kelly mine was idling rough. I changed sparks, oil change and better quality gas, fuel treatment. I also did a fuel injection clean and engine flush from Valvoline a few months earlier so I know they weren't the problem. But it looked like sparks and oil change (using synthetic now) made a massive difference. The cars like a little bullet again.
