What drop in mm did you get with those springs?how much lower could you go if you used coilovers?thanks.car looked good to me

Robert Teale I don't know exactly how much drop these springs afforded, but I would guess a couple inches, so perhaps 25-35mm. After the springs settled, the car sat nicely, and is just high enough not to scrape on driveways or speed bumps. I'm sure you could go significantly lower with coilovers, but at that point, you are sacrificing ride quality, which is the opposite of what you want to do on a German luxury car. This video seriously sucks You do not have to take off the driveshaft just unbolt the lower control arm in the whole assembly will drop down. And that "control arm he disconnected is called sway bar link

I am not sure what was actually used here since this Passat belonged to a friend of mine, and he purchased the springs through one of the VW forums used. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Best method is to jack up the entire front of the vehicle and change the springs on both sides one after the other. Always work safe by ensuring the coil spring is tied when you are using the spring compressors.

First step would be going back to school and take an english class.

never install lowering springs! This will destroy your suspension. Buy a real coilover kit and adjust the height. I have had both types on multiple cars coilovers are the only way to go. The only way to lower that car correctly is to swap out many parts to compensate for the lowering. This is not ideal. Keep your car at stock height, want a lowered car? Get a BMW M3.
