At the 9 min mark of the video you can see the backup camera view angle is very narrow (about 90-100 degrees). Most backup cameras on the market advertise 170 degrees, but most of them are not. From the video you don't see the fish-eye effect. If you prefer wider-angle view (true 170 degrees), you should make sure before buying it. I had to replace mine because I found out it is not fish-eye camera. I did find a true 170 degrees camera on the web and replace the old one.

Thank you your videos are very helpful the last time I did a car we put a bunch of amplifiers and JBL speakers in the back of a pickup with a 72 Honda Civic four-door and I had to make a wiring harnesses darn near an inch and a half in diameter and run it underneath the car that was quite interesting because it was nowhere to tuck it in on those old cars thank you again very helpful

What size hole did you drill? Seems like a 1/2 in is to small to feed the inputs thru with a cable in the hole.

I did a 3/4th hole because of the AC connectors on the camera had to go though. I got several rubber grommets and silicon to seal up the hole after I ran the cables.

I have the same/ very similar headunit installed by previous owner. I cannot find the reverse lead wire it isn’t labelled that could it be labelled a different name?

Can you clamp the black wire, which is the ground wire to a ring terminal, and screw it to the chassis body? Will it work that way?

Why you Drill a hole when you can just cancel one of the hole where the part clips in

Some connectors are too large to fit the clip hole, so if you have to drill anyway why not drill in a more convenient spot?

If there is no image, either there is a problem with the cable / short, or the camera isn't getting power. Check all your connections.

not to sound ungrateful. but you kinda skipped over a few steps. like how did you get the back seats down? and that back cover behind the seats? I have a 8th gen civic. and that's where I hit a road bloack

The only way to get the back seats down is a latch in the trunk, one on each side right below the trunk hangers. Just tuck the wires below and under the back cover behind the seats, no need to remove the covers. If you need to ask where the rear seat latch is, it’s probably best to leave it to a professional installer.

What kind of connection is the trigger wire connecting to the reverse in from the head unit? Would you advise against using t-taps for the reverse camera power from the light?

Following theses steps I just finished mine. T-taps worked fine for me. I did use the screw type (Posi-tap) not the old crimp style.
