Thanks man for showing us where it was the problem, when I removed the carpet found the broken pieces, freaking idiots why would they made the piece out of plastic instead of some bolts... I fix it with a screw, washers and nut!

Helped me figure out how to shut my lights off for the night so I wouldn't drain my battery or have to unhook the battery and then reprogram the radio and who knows what else. Brake lights went off when I put the pennies behind it. Can hopefully get a switch tomorrow and put it in thank you for this video

Dang dude. Lucky my battery was replaced under warranty because this is the actual issue. Thought they were on before the day car wouldn’t start but just figure sun was hitting just right. Found some broken pieces look like might be where the trigger rested. Just a hole now so trigger is out. Good video.

Same thing, The little thing that presses the switch is broken, don't know if my dumb self broke it with the shoe's tip or just give up itself. But that drained today a relatively new battery.

Same thing just happened to my son's 2006 civic. Dead battery, battery replaced under warranty. Put new battery in then brake lights stayed on. Watched view videos and noticed the piece broken up on the floor mat.

Tnx. Just repaired the civic fd.. the Engineers at Honda seems to have put a rubber stopper on a hole. That should not be there.. so we just put a flat head plate bolt on the hole insteas

I’m watching this because I have no brake lights and you also solved another issue for me, this sensor also makes my car now click into gears.before even knowing that this sensor was going bad and works sometimes for me my car out of the blue stopped coming out of reverse.so for the temp fix for me I had to stab something into the hole on the rt side of my shifter each and every time I moved it from park. the littlest things are so helpful for us females.thank you again❤

More than likely the light will stay on because the pad broke off. Check the pad first
