I wouldn't know. I wanted one as a little kid, finally bought one, turned out to be a flood damage car, and the engine failed. Replaced the engine 2 days later it failed again turns out the cats were flood damaged too (of course) and stopped up the engine. After that I walked away from it. Only got to drive the car for 4 days all in all. Wasted 11k in 4 days 😂

How much would you estimate for a 2006 TL base with 57k miles, one owner with 16 maintenance records. Clean title and no accidents. Should I hire a maintenance guy to inspect the car? I’m a female and don’t know much about used cars. The dealership is asking for $8990 no negotiation. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Happy new year! ❤
@DMCarReviews21 күн бұрын
Hi! Thank you. Happy New Year to you too!! Inspect it first, or even better have a certified Acura mechanic take a look at it! Assuming it looks good and everything checks out, I'd offer $7500 and see what they say. I would ideally aim for $8000 on the price with those miles. Not a bad deal at all, assuming the car is clean and the miles are real.

@@DMCarReviews A mechanic friend of mine is concerned about the car's low mileage. The engine has been idling for 19 years with only a few thousand miles annually. He fears the gaskets and seals may have hardened and become brittle over time. While the engine might not leak now, he’s worried the seals could start failing after a few months of normal use. What's your take on this? Thank you!

Yanno I'm pretty happy with my 2017 Honda Accord SE, but I get the desire for more power, although I'm less concerned about the CVT now. Obviously the TL would use quite a bit more gas. And the Honda only has about 64,000 on it. Hmm maybe I should just have both.

I'm pretty sure that only applied to the V6 paired to the 4 speed, this one has the 5 speed which I've heard is very reliable. Funny enough though, Honda's older automatics are actually automated manuals with a clutch pack and torque converter like a typical planetary auto. It's the reason why their DCTs in the newer TLX, ILX, and NSX are so good as Honda already had experience building automated manuals. Love the 8 speed DCT in my TLX.
