2006 Dodge Dakota Water Pump.

A detailed video about replacing the water pump on a 2006 Dodge Dakota with the 3.7L V-6. This is a job that can be accomplished with the following tools:
ratchet
15mm socket
13mm socket
Pliers (to remove radiator hose clamp)
Catch pan
Funnel
36mm Fan Clutch wrench
Something to hold water pump pulley.

Thank you for the straight-up info. One thing you might want to add, lol, is the fact that the pump housing on engine has razor sharp edges, and while gently sanding with very fine emory, one can lose several pieces of knuckle flesh, LOL!! It's funny the next day, but not while you're bleeding on your sons truck. A good pair of mechanics gloves (like in video) are highly recommended.

Easier to leave the belt on, apply force to keep the water pump pully from spinning and then loosen the fan. Might have to take a hammer and give the wrench you use a "love tap" to loosen the nut and then just spin it off. Once its off then remove the belt

FYI, if you remove the upper hose, you can remove the shroud before taking off the fan, it's not even very hard to do. This gives you way more space to work with getting the fan off.

The o ring seal was leaking. I'd put silicon on seal. Old one was leaking. Something aloof...

Oh yes. The only way we make any money is to get it done and get on to the next job. In the shop it all about doing it correctly as fast as you can.

I got a question I changed my thermostat and the coolant that came out was dark dark orange and I replaced it which coolant that said it was okay for crystler is this gonna affect anythin?

Coinstar gaming no, the orange is most likely an any make coolant sign it should be compatible with Chrysler coolant.

The reason he put a vacuum on it was to remove all the air that was introduced into the system. This just saves time when refilling because, otherwise, he would have to idle the vehicle with the radiator cap off inorder to purge the air out. Either way works, the vacuum method is just a lot quicker and cleaner.

Idk if you figured it out yet. Considering that the 3.7L is just the 4.7 minus two cylinders, it most likely is the same
