Great video! Really happy to see a video made in 2022 about a 2006 Caravan. Mine still runs great! Thank you!

It's so weird to see the radiator almost empty when the car is running, that is normal?

do these only have the coolant reservoir for adding coolant or is there a radiator cap also?

In general, any standard automotive coolant that you buy in the store should work.

so you don't need to fill the coolant all the way to max?
@InsaneOil2 жыл бұрын
As long as you are between the min and max you are good to go.

@@InsaneOil here all this time I thought I had a major coolant leak, but I was just pouring in too much. The mechanics said it was my water pump but no leaks around that area. Good to know, thanks 👍

Do you check coolant when the engine is cold or hot?
@InsaneOil3 жыл бұрын
You can visually check the coolant in most vehicles by looking at the outside of the Coolant Reservoir (without removing the cap). If you are checking the coolant by removing the radiator or reservoir cap, you will want to ensure that the engine is completely cooled off. If you don't wait until it cools off, you run the risk of hot coolant spraying all over you as the system is pressurized.

@@InsaneOil but the thermostat opens and brings coolant into the cylinders. Do you get a more accurate reading when it’s cold or hot?
@InsaneOil3 жыл бұрын
@@michaelarturo6864 Many vehicles will have a cold/hot level on the side of the reservoir. You can think of the Min/Max levels in this vehicle as comparable to Hot/Cold. Regardless of engine temperature, as long as you are between the Min and Max, you are good.
