2006 Dodge Grand Caravan - Checking the Transmission Fluid

Hi,.when you check the level should the engine be running ? When I the engine runs the oil doesn't reach the dipstick at all. When I turn off the engine I need to wait 15 min till the oil settles in the pan before I check level. Thanks

What type of transmission fluid does it take?

Do I add the transmission fluid while the engine is running or turn the engine off first?

Most people have the car off and then add the fluid, and then run the vehicle to check the fluid… But I suppose you could have the engine running.
