I know!! This car has been hit twice and it was technically totaled, but the insurance allowed a buyback so I bought it back and repaired it myself. That’s how much I love this car. Took 2 weeks on a frame puller to straighten the frame

I'm 21. Didn't get my license until July 2017 (so I'm still new). My parents gave 06 Accord V6 but without 6 speed (I only drive automatic). It has about 120K, but it was upgrade with dealer touchscreen, 6 disc CD player, and GPS. My parents bought about a year ago from my Mom's coworker for about $4400. Love the car. Best gift I got. I call it, "Silver Dragon."

Funny thing is, when I picked up mine a few years back, I had NO IDEA it was anything rare. I knew I wanted a 6-6. But I had no idea the sedan was such a rare car. I got mine for $2500 with a slipping clutch, probably because the dealer charges $3000 to replace the clutch. But I replaced my clutch a few hundred dollars and ended up with a GREAT car.

One thing worth mentioning about this car is that Honda in its infinite wisdom decided to give it wimpy front brakes. Unlike the 6-6 coupe (which got the 11.8” Acura TL/CL brakes), the 6-6 sedan was given the same weak 11.1” front brakes the four cylinder Accords got. Luckily, it is cheap and easy to upgrade to the 11.8 inch brakes. You can even use junkyard parts from a CL/TL (since you are unlikely to find a 6-6 coupe). This upgrade not only VASTLY improves braking. It also reduces the tendency of this car to warp front rotors. For even BETTER brakes, you can use the Fastbrakes front caliper mounts to use the Brembo-style Acura RL calipers (made by Advics) with 12.8 inch 350Z rotors. This upgrade will give you the ultimate in stopping power, but is MUCH costlier than the CL/TL option. It also requires either wheel spacers or different rims to accommodate the large four piston calipers.

I was lucky enough to pick up a one owner 60,000 original miles V6 6-speed Coupe with the hfp Honda factory performance kit that comes with a front lip rear lip side skirt spoiler different Wheels leather seats heated seats etc sway bars I've gone through every piece of maintenance on the engine and suspension top to bottom front to back I did not realize how rare this car was I bought it for a daily because I have a 1995 Honda Civic Coupe that's my fully built track car with a built k24 block K20 head with nothing but two seats in a roll cage in it I did not realize how rare it was to find a V6 let alone a V6 and a coup let alone a V6 in a coupe with a 6-speed and then the rarest of the rare with the hfp package that changes the complete look honestly when I see him without the hfp kit I do not like them I've never been in accord fan I've owned tons of civics integras crx's s2000s never really like to chords but something about the 7th generation coupes with the hfp package or the 9th generation coupes with the hfp package look way more aggressive!!!!!!! My Civic is very nice with a custom candy paint job and like I said a fully built track car but I HAVE NEVER GOT AS MANY COMPLIMENTS ON A CAR AS I DO WITH THE ACCORD I HAVE PEOPLE COME UP TO ME ALL THE TIME SAYING WOW THAT'S A NICE CAR WHAT IS IT AND THEY'RE SURPRISED WHEN THEY FIND OUT IT'S A HONDA And after adding cold air intake full two and a half inch dual exhaust a j-pipe and precat delete to eliminate the three catalytic converters and then a bigger 3.7 l intake manifold and throttle body off the newer v6s it really brings this thing to life!!!!!! And this is only my daily driver and I can pretty much be any V8 from the early 2000s or older with around 3 to 400 horsepower I've beaten Challenger and charger RTS with 400 horsepower was able to keep up with my neighbor's scat pack Challenger with 500 until 100 miles an hour but any older Camaro or mustang with around 3 to 400 I can hang right with them or if they're 300 horsepower beat them all day long and I think this is the older 3.0 when this motor gets tired and gets high miles I plan to put the 3.7 J series engine out of the newer Acura TL and that with all the same bolt-ons I already have done to this engine and a tune I'll easily be sitting at 300 horsepower or more to the wheels the seventh generation Accords did not get much love let alone Accords at all but I will say this is a great daily driver comfortable for long drives and if you like going fast and you put the money in the right places and have the six-speed even the 3.0 can get down with the bigger v6s 350Z 370Z etc

I have a 2007 v6 sedan with the 6 speed manual and love it. Faster than most other cars on the road. Will be a highly desirable classic sleeper now that the v6 is gone. I put sway bars on from the Acura TL and am considering putting in a limited slip diff for the fwd. Not many people are aware but it actually has a nice front AND rear double wishbone suspension (as opposed to most other cars on the road which have the cheaper Macpherson struts)

I have this car, the 06 sedan with the 6-speed. 250k miles (bought it at 20k) it's a beige with parchment interior. The engine still purrs and the car is fast and strong. 3 and 4 gear power are a dream and it's responsiveness still spoils me when I drive newer cars. Starting to use a little oil, and it's going to be like losing your dog when it finally goes. I've had a power steering issue and had to replace the starter, but that's about it outside scheduled maintenance. Unbelievably I have never had to replace the clutch.

The coupe has aged so much better! The 2.4 is not as quick, but it really is more balanced when hard cornering. The car was almost flawless while new, but started to fall apart after the 8th year, I had to change the ac system, the oil pan, the headunit, the oil pressure switch, the vtec pump, the control arms, my 96 accord (non-vtec) was more reliable imho. My RLX is really how the new accord should have been.

For any of you wondering about this V6 it's super reliable. I have the '03 V6 coupe and it now has 230,000 miles. Runs great. Have done the timing belt / water pump / spark plugs job twice and that's it for the engine.

@yt-user03561 Жыл бұрын
@@lil.d.6609 Yeah depends on how old it is. Just because it has low miles doesn't mean it might not need work done to it. I found that out with my own car which I bought at 109,000 miles and it was an 04. Likely it will need suspension work, timing belt, valve adjustment, motor mounts and other maintenance items. Is it worth it doing all of that, yes. Now if the car had well over 200,000 miles like a lot of Civics and Accords have today then I would say pass. Either the previous owner already did the work or they maxed out the life of the original parts through highway miles.

One of the weak points on this car is the front brakes, same version in coupe has larger brake discs and you can swap them. Thats what I did and couldnt be happier. Still love driving it everytime.

Do THIS. Or, if you want to go all out, get RL calipers, 12.8 inch 350Z rotors, and the Fastbrakes caliper brackets. Just keep in mind that the stock 17s need wheel spacers to accommodate these calipers.

My parents give me their 2006 2.4liter accord as my first car, I would say this car is perfect for daily driving and I love it! This 2006 model feels lighter and the sound system is way better than the latest accord. (Not sure if the model specs are vary according to countries, but in my country yes it is.)

I know this video was recorded 9 years ago but how did you manage to find a 7th Generation Accord with only 20K miles at the time?! It looks pretty sweet with the V6 engine and manual transmission. These Hondas can last forever with good maintenance.

Gosh I miss those gear changing chirps🤤 gosh when the roads a little wet this thing will smoke 💨 tires till like 5th gear no joke😂 man I miss my car I only got to drive mines for about a year and a half. Totaled at 150k miles😭 Helen(Honda) will be missed. If your interested in a v6 manual get it, you won’t be disappointed😉

Ok, so this one is an issue that I have had a run in with. The temps that you are talking about are probably around the 30s and below sometimes as high as the 40s. You startup the car and take the car out and it is not fun to shift till the car more than warms up. Short runs are an issue. The answer is not your gear box or the fluid in the gear box. The answer lies in the hydraulic slave cylinder that actuates the clutch. when the temp is low the fluid is thick and moves slowly. This causes the clutch to not fully disengage before you are ready to shift. What compounds the issue more is that Honda put a filter in the slave cylinder to trap particulates. This filter gets plugged over time and causes the size of the channel to get smaller which takes more time to push the same volume of fluid to the end point. I would bet money that you also have the moving friction point issue with your clutch. Completely flush that hydraulic clutch actuator as well as clean out the screen in the slave cylinder or replace the slave. There is also a mod out there to kill the clutch return rate limiter. Just use google. well known issue. total job should cost nothing compared to the MTF for a honda trans.
@fadumpt
@fadumpt 7 жыл бұрын
+Pretty Sure : After changing mtf for gm synthetic syncromesh, my grind issue went away and shifting was smooth. I *really* need to look in to the power steering and clutch slave cylinder issue...power steering can be very hard and I have the sticky clutch after wide open throttle moments.

I Just bought a 05 Accord EX-L automatic with the 3.0 and I love the heck out of it , unfortunately it's not my 01 which was k24 swapped with a 5 speed , I was rear-ended by a drunk driver so the Cg6 ended up in the Bone yard for unfortunate cars . Overall the 05 is a great car even pushing 250,000 miles on the clock .
