Wish I would have found your video earlier. Pulled the belt off of my civic and compared to the new oam. The new one was longer and I went back to the store to make sure I got the right one. Ended up going to Dealer and buying a Honda belt and it was still longer...but I saw the new and old diagram for routing. Which made sense why the new one was longer...! Live and learn. Thanks...keep up the good work.

Help!!! 2007 Civic Ex Coupe (Canadian). I can't get the serpentine belt on. I've tried Bando 7PK2164, Genuine Honda 7PK2170, Gates 7PK2150, etc and neither will not clear the alternator pulley. It's like it's too short. I am following the new routing diagram. The tensioner and bolt are brand new. `ANy advice appreciated!

Hmm...interesting. Have you talked to the Honda dealership yet? What size belt do they recommend? What I would do is measure the belt, then go down to your local auto parts store and find a belt that's a bit longer. Sounds like the correct part numbers are out the window for you at this point.

@ohbeee2 жыл бұрын
Do you know if there is a length difference in the OEM 04301-RNA-307 vs the bando 7PK2170? Is it a 6mm difference in length? In your video was your belt the Honda oem one and was it hard to get back over the alternator pully? I’ve got the Honda OEM belt just wondering if it is slightly smaller than the Bando aftermarket one even though bando makes the OEM belts
@nukem3842 жыл бұрын
They theoretically should be the same size because the Bando part is an OEM replacement for the genuine part. I had a hard time trying to figure this out, which is why I went with the genuine belt, just to be sure. I didn't have any issues getting the Honda belt over the pulley. 6mm is not that much. Since the adjuster is hydraulic anyway, the 6mm shouldn't cause an issue trying to get that belt on. Move stretch over time anyway, so the adjuster will take care of it.

THANK YOU for this video! Getting the belt around all the pulleys was a massive pain in the ass but with my father's help we managed to get it done. Realized my entire passengers side motor mount had somehow let go and the entire engine on passengers side was almost sitting on the ground. The belt was rubbing against exposed metal which shredded the serpentine belt. Somehow we managed to use a giant prybar to move the engine back to its proper place and got 1 bolt in the motor mount to hold... Hopefully it holds on for awhile 🤞🤞 Great video tho!

Hey, my civic makes a noise between 1500- 2000 rpms and only does it on the right side passenger side, while accelerating. I've changed all the pulleys except alternator because they said its running fine and the only one that hasn't been replaced is the ac compressor. The noise is really obnoxious and only does it when j drive and it's super loud. Any, suggestions?
@nukem384 Жыл бұрын
I mean, you've changed all the pullies besides one. Are you able to zero in on the noise and see if it's that AC compressor pulley? Also, make sure they are torqued to the correct spec. That could be the issue also.

@@benjamingarcia1072 It shouldn't be hard to get the belt over the pulley. If you're loosening the tensioner as shown, which it sounds like you know how to do, the belt should be easy to seat. @@maverickperson5443 can you not look up the specs of each belt online? But for 6mm, that's such a tiny difference. I would think you'd be fine then. The tensioner is adjustable for a reason. And over the life of the belt, it's going to stretch more than that.
