There are many sweet cars out there, and there is an equal amount (if not more) not good at all cars also existing. Today's subject, the 2006 Lexus LS430 is what I believe to be the closest thing to a perfect car. It offers a reliable power plant, opulent interior, and a rather low entrance fee. Tune in as I analyze one of the greatest Lexus cars of all time. #lexus #ls430 #toyota

Excellent review. Good to see that one can still move along nicely even after nearly two decades. I'm four years into my 2005 model and have no plans to replace it. Awesome cars.

I had a 2002. Such a nice ride.. Traded it in for a 2014 LS460-- being in Colorado, I really wanted a AWD version. Still, I miss this car. Mightt get one again!

4:10 Well you are talking 19MPG for the 3rd gen LS vs 22MPG for the current gen V6. So...is that really bad? No IMO that's pretty damn good or we just haven't progressed as much as we like to think we have.

10:20 The lines on this car are "classic" dude. Ive come to realize that having seen it new on the lots to now being better than the NEW cars actually ON the lots. So. What a loss for us all to be honest. We should not be in this state. It should be better. Instead this car from the past is better if you had one as new compared to a current new one. Ride quality, fit and finish, reliability. Those things. Back to the styling. Sure its sedate but that's what classic is. This car is a design that is non offensive and id argue handsome. Its "adult" and you only respect that when you become one. Im 40 now but I've always liked big sedans. But an S8, XJR, or W124 all have the lines this car has. That classic sillouett.
@autoobsessivegarage
@autoobsessivegarage Ай бұрын
Hahaha I’m actually a few years more than 40 on the “adult” scale, so my critique stands haha. Sedate can certainly translate to classic, but I do find the exterior design to be a fair touch too soft and bubbly…and that’s ok. It’s still an attractive car and better looking than the brand’s modern offerings. A little more chiseling could have benefitted the overall image. That interior though…is by far my favorite period of Lexus interior design.

Hey man idk if you will see this but I’m currently looking at buying one of these for around 20k but with really low miles. Would that price be worth it or should I go for cheaper with more miles? Also what is the modding scene like for this car?
@autoobsessivegarage
@autoobsessivegarage Ай бұрын
How low mileage are we talking here…30k or less? Depends on maintenance history and if the timing belt and water pump have been done. Based on those factors, it’s a higher price but seems like a peach.

@@autoobsessivegarage found a 2007 ls430 with 47k miles for 21 thousand, seems to be in pretty good condition. Would it be better to get a ls460 or a newer model though I’m kind of trying to find something that’s reliable and fast (sub 5.5 0-60) which is why I was checking out these Lexus’s

@@autoobsessivegarage I think your title is correct. It really is the best car I've ever driven and I'm someone who prefers a sporty manual car. It really knocked it out of the park and didn't fall short in any category. It has aged so well, it is so safe and reliable, not too mention that even that old screen can be modded by some aftermarket companies to incorporate wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto!

Bought a 2005 a year ago from the proverbial little old lady from Pasadena with 39,000 miles on it. There's no way I would risk the repair costs of a comparable MBZ S series or BMW 7 and it definitely can be argued the LS was a better car when new.

The black interior looks worse and cheaper than the light tan! You can see the blemishes and the creases and the shine with the black leather, it looks like crap compared to the tan, It reminds me of 80s Cadillac black leather. I don't know why people love the black so much, The tan makes the car look thousands more expensive!
