They all were sophomores too. That recruiting class wqsnt even top 10 coming in 2004 but left with 2 national championships smh that goes to show u highschool rankings hardly mean anything once first day of freshman year starts

They were all sophomores, roommates, best of friends. Florida is the only team after 1970 to win a title in football🏈 and basketball 🏀. Only team to win a football 🏈 and a basketball 🏀 championships in the same school year. Only team to win with every starter returning. Last team to win back-to-back. Three players had semi-famous sports fathers. Yonnick Noah in tennis, Tito Horford and Sidney Green in basketball.

Remember that all those guys you just mentioned was Sophomores. Humphrey was a Junior. So Noah asked him to stay his Senior Year and run it back.

Florida had traveled a LONG journey to get here. Other than a surprise 2000 Final Four, this team had been always known for March pratfalls- Creighton, Manhattan, Temple, blown out on basically their home turf by Michigan State. And some people forget that they were on the wrong end of GONZAGA, THE SLIPPER STILL FITS IN '99. Hell, they had a lead with less than 20 seconds left before a traveling call.

Amazing Since 1970 no NCAA team has won National Championships in Football or Basketball, except....the Florida Gators. The Gators who has won 3 in football and 2 in basketball. The Gators are the only team to win the football and basketball championships in the same year.

I was here 12th row Kareem and Bill Walton were 12 seats beside me. Went to 4 final 4s. FLORIDA back to back. San Antonio Memphis Kansas. New Orleans Anthony Davis year. Florida was the best team I've ever watched Taurean green and Lee Humphrey were so good. Then 3 nba greats

Do you happen to have the highlights of the Florida vs Georgetown and Florida vs Villanova games from that same tournament? Those two games proved The Gators could win a close game in the tournament, especially the Georgetown Game, that one came down to the wire.
