Great video! I wanted to let people know there's a spot you can lock the tensioner in place with an Allen wrench or something to work on the belt a bit easier. It just slides in the hole in the tensioner into the block while you have tension on it.. makes it a little safer and then your not fighting it

Buy the OEM belt. You’ll likely never need to replace it again.

Thank you for this. I jacked up the car, removed the wheel and plastic shield… as soon as I did all that, I said nope. There’s no space there to do anything. But now I’m wondering if I should’ve jacked it up higher. Can you tell me how high you jacked the car? I used the one that came with the car but wasn’t comfortable with how flimsy it looks

Smart to be careful. I would not attempt to do any work without lowering the car on a jack stand and making sure it is solid and secure. I lifted the car just high enough to get the wheel off. Once the wheel is off (car on jack stand) and the plastic shield is off that’s all the room you have. Yes, not much room to work!

@@edshandymantips4862 thanks Ed. Forgot to mention I did put a jack stand in front of the car where the jack point is, and the wheel I removed next to the jack. I’m not even big but I couldn’t move around to reach the pulleys and belt. Might have to jack it up higher as I only lifted it with an inch clearance between the tire and ground.

LOL your diagram's cute. I've an '07 ES 350 and no mechanical finesse, so I was just searching how hard this could be. Now I know. Looks like I'll be squealing like a pig going back to the mechanic for what seems to be at least a monthly visit.

Love the deliverance quote! I’m sure your mechanic is better than the stealership. My wife got a quote recently from Lexus to replace the all four struts. $5000 big ones! I bought the two front ones from rock auto.com for less than $200 - another one of my vids!

Ouch! That's insane! We don't even have a Lexus dealership on the island, and I thought there was only one reliable mechanic in my area...until they let me pull away with a new pig squeal after getting a new thermostat 2 days ago. My reliable Lexi seems to like Dr. visits, or they like tinkering with her. @@edshandymantips4862
