I'm a 64 yr old woman and was able to install these same speakers in my '09 Lexus RX 350. It worked great and the sound is awesome! My husband was proud of me too! Thank you so much for your video, it was incredibly helpful.

Nicely done! Best Buy was able to provide the connector kit for me (which I didn’t realize I needed at the time)

Thanks. I was able to remove the white connector from the speaker. The pins behind it can identify the polarity. One pin is thin and the other is fat. You just need a wire connection between the speaker and the back of the connector.

Thank you so much for this video, I used this for my 2007 ES350. It’s almost exactly the same except the ES350 has more screws in the door and the speaker mount is angled. You didn’t mention them, but I found clip on wiring that can plug directly into the oem wiring, so no soldering required; although, time will tell how they hold up.

The woofer in the front door of these is crossed over actively from the amp so don't waste ur time getting a 2-way cause that tweeter is already in the A pillar

Nice explanation, but unless you bypassed the factory amp, the speaker you chose isn't the right one for the application. The factory amp in the 2nd gen RX has an integrated crossover circuit. The front signal is split between the A pillar tweeter, dash corner midrange, and the door mounted woofer. The rear door is a 2 way. Point being, integrated tweeter in the 2 way speaker you installed won't do anything at all, because the signal to drive it is delivered to the A-pillar. You can either bypass the factory amp and drive the speakers direct from the head unit, or install an aftermarket amp...or stick with the factory configuration with a component woofer in the front door, tweeter in the pillar, and mid in the dash corner.

Nice tutorial for the front speakers which I will be changing mine on my RX400h. How about the rears if the pos/neg connections are the same as the fronts. I will probably do the same test from my power supply. Thanks for the help!👍

Was this the Mark Levinson or just the standard Lexus audio for this car? I think the ML is better quality.

ML is definitely a work of art. I heard the engineers spent a god send about of time on tuning it in that car.

Bit of impedance miss-match, with the speakers you chose. Believe factory is two ohm and these are three ohm. So volume will have to be turned up higher with new speakers for same hearing level. Also for about 25 bucks you could have just refoamed the factory speakers

@FatMat916 everywhere I look it says 2.5". But I think it's more because of the spacer between the door and the speaker. I'd like to put 6.5 subs in the front door.
