Honestly it would have been a 5-star video if you ended off with the before and after difference of temperatures and what kind of coolant you used to replace it with.
@brijdelada34356 жыл бұрын
It just the jeep recommended coolant, I went to a dealer and they gave me the correct coolant at an affordable price. It was a few extra dollars but having Mopar/Jeep brand coolant and fluids is what I always do to make sure everything works correctly.

The before-after temps are going to range so widely depending on so many factors, the engine works harder for driving 33"s, 35"s, 37", 40"s, then it works less for 4.10s, 456's, 488's 513's, then more air gets to it depending on grill, OEM Grill, Angry Bird Grill, and more or less air gets to it if you have grill inserts with US flags and stuff on them, or if you have lights mounted in front of your grill, and lastly, if you have a winch it'll restrict airflow, or if you have it sunken, it'll improve airflow (or if you have no winch at all, that's ideal), as well as if you have a stinger or bull bar, that'll also restrict flow, PLUS and probably most importantly, ambient air temperature where you live. It's totally possible, if you have a great airflow, no winch, no bullbar, a free and clear grill with no slots or obstructions, that the aftermarket radiator has no degree improvement over the stock under normal driving conditions, but then change any of those variables (do a hill climb in 4 low with 40"s on 4.10 gears) then maybe the OEM will heat soak faster than the aftermarket. Too many factors for an apples to apples comparison.

Thanks this was a great well executed video. I have a faint smell of antifreeze on my 2016 No drips and it doesn’t run hot but makes me nervous. So brought it to the dealership they wanted nearly $1200 for OEM which only lasted 2.5 years! I’m completely capable of handling what I just saw in this video so for a few hours and around $300 in parts. I’ll be doing this myself now. Thanks again!

Pro tip: enlarge the holes of the ac condenser and manifold mounting holes that connect to the new radiator. Fitment is not going to be perfect so bending some tabs together with enlarging some holes will make using all fasterners less of a headache

Whoever reads this they forgot to tell you a few things. Take the old rubber mounts off the factory radiator and install them on your new radiator aftermarket or not. Also the condenser holes won’t line up you will have to make them bigger to mount the condenser to the radiator, you will be able to mount one side but not both, Yes I bought and installed one of these radiators myself. I hope this helps you. I also changed the the heater core the easy way and put a fail safe thermostat in along with a new water pump. Your right there you might as well change it. Now I have heat heat in my Jeep !
@josephmartin23625 ай бұрын
Check the height of the side AC line bracket mount -- it should be 3/4" tall, not 1" like mine was. Shorten to 3/4" and all holes line up correctly.

People are having better luck with this brand and others by not fully bolting it down. Use a little loctight on the bolts with the radiator able to wiggle around slightly. When you flex the jeep it doesn't twist the radiator during the flex.

It’s missing threaded hole on the right bottom corner comparing to OEM. There are 2 metal lines that left lose after installing. If they rub you’d develop the hole very quick. Idk why such an expensive radiator left this out. Disappointing

Are there any reviews on their 2nd gen ?Their first gen had a lot of bad reviews .
@S2K_Crosstrek5 жыл бұрын
jason cullen I just installed the Version 2, was hesitant because all of the bad reviews from Version 1 leaking after only a few months. I called Mishimoto and talked to them about what they did to the updated version and I guess will have to wait and see. Only had it on for a couple of days also flushed the entire system because last owner had put wrong coolant in. I checked the history on my Jeep (2015 Rubi JKU) and it is on its 2nd mopar radiator at 50K and I could smell strong coolant odor at top right drivers side after driving. After pulled off, didn’t see any visible powder from dried coolant but also didn’t pressure test either. If the Mishi V2 goes bad, will probably go back to Mopar or Griffin model since they obviously didn’t get it right. We will see.

Jeezus - don't do this mode. I did it about 3 or 4 years ago. The radiator is weaker than stock. I went through 3 of them in about 2 months. Contacted the company and they think it's the frame of the JK causing the radiator to fail. (i'm just doing street driving). It cost my a fortune in antifreeze having to fill up after each replacement and all my time!!! Thank GOD I did not pay someone do do this!!! it would have been a fortune times 10! Anyway - went back to stock and haven't had any issues.
