I have 285\70\17 bfg ko2 tires with no lift or rub on my 2015 silverado, I wouldn’t add a block on the rear axle, I’d throw in an add a leaf instead.
@chevyon37s6 жыл бұрын
Vince Fairleigh BFG notoriously run small, and that's a pretty minuscule tire size over stock tires. And these trucks come with block in the rear, so a 1in taller block is fine, and will ride better than an add a leaf.
@vincefairleigh68996 жыл бұрын
Drew w even one inch will increase the leverage for more axle hop, I’d still go with an add a leaf any day, the springs are extremely soft, so,if it did stiffen it up a little and flex more why not.

Just added another Silverado to my driveway and don't want a lift or level. Just wider tires. Your the first person that I've heard of that put 285/70r17 without a lift or level. Thanks, now I know what I can do. I'm planning on cooper AT3 4s. I'm not going off into rocky off road area just muddy trails with 2 foot water holes. Farm and deer woods. My cooper 265 AT3's on stock my 2010 Silverado haven't let me down yet. Always roll right through it. Only scary part is when water comes over hood going in. Only 1 inch leftover at full lock so not sure 285s would work on the 2010 with out level.

Because those are real 33's that are 12.5in wide, not the same as factory width like 275's. 275/60r20's are pizza cutters and you can fit those stock. The width is what causes the rubbing problems.

Rough country is terrible. Poor engineering and inferior materials. Don't forget with any leveling kit more than 2in of "lift" will give you a terrible ride unless you get aftermarket control arms with more droop stop clearance and better ball joint angle.
@maxmeeker19356 жыл бұрын
this is hilarious how wrong it is
@chevyon37s6 жыл бұрын
FAGZITS tell me how? They use nylon for lift blocks and spacer in some cases. Not good. Rough country has you cutting out droop stops on some of their kits as well as chopping off bits of frame to make their stuff fit when no other lift manufacturer requires that. A 2.5in leveling kit puts the stock upper control arms very close to the droop stops on these trucks and then you get a harsh ride from the droop stroke of the suspension as it smacks the droop stop much more frequently and on rather small bumps. I've installed many leveling kits and I've seen it time and time again. I'm running a 2.5in level and upper control arms for a better ride on my personal truck.
