It was almost a great idea only reason it wasn’t is that I’m 68 years old and have always done my own breaks and I did not think of that . Walked around looking for a sea clamp for 20 minutes.

Great video. Bought my 2007 SR5 TSS in 2018 and have never touched the brakes. I’ve have had a shimmy at 61mph for a few months now. Apparently if you tow a lot (like me) the rotors warp. My pads and rotors looked just like yours. Bring a Texas only truck, my disassembly was identical to yours. I feel bad for all the northern people commenting in here about rusty parts. Our summers suck, but man our winters are mild! Great video, thank you for the time and effort to further other’s knowledge

Just my luck. The only video I found that shows a hub assembly that looks like mine, but it's about replacing rotors and so doesn't have the part number for the Hub/bearing assembly (which I can't seem to find). LOL Anyway....good job on the video. Informative.

Do I need to open the brake fluid reservoir when compressing the piston? I heard it will push brake fluid back and cause a leak.
@MrRangerZr1

Just crack it open, don't leave it completely exposed

i have a 2017 tundra, going to be doing the brakes as well, do i have to bleed the brakes or can i just open the brake cap on the brake reservoir?

Best to bleed the brakes while you're changing the brakes

Toyota says on the bottom of the inside pad. You’re also missing one of your springs.

om the pad that metal tab is that just a feeler for when the pad gets low? and does it matter which side its on?
@MrRangerZr1
@MrRangerZr1 8 ай бұрын
When the pads get to the level of the tab it'll screech when you hit the brakes letting you know it's time to change the brakes. Orientation does matter.
