I had exact same noise coming from my 2007 Civic. There were a number of possible causes from researching online. Before you go taking apart things, check your power steering fluid levels. It is the cap above the windshield fluid. The power steering fluid should be between the two lines on the outside of the translucent casing. Look for the fluid shadow. You MUST use Honda Power steering fluid. At Auto Zone, they have their own brand, but it must specifically say for Honda only. You can use other brands in an emergency, but you’ll then need to flush out your power steering system. My fluid level was low, and once I got that taken care of, that whirling/whining noise went away. There are other potential causes, but look for the easy fix first.

@justthetipgarage53053 жыл бұрын
Just the bearing. But what I’ve found is you should do the pulley as well for a couple reasons. First it’s cheap and comes as a kit, second it’s a pain to try and press the bearing on and off reusing everything else. And third the clutch plate on the end is probably warm anyway so new grip will make it last a lot longer. It would suck to replace it all just to have the clutch slip and not provide ac. Or the magnet give out. Etc. for the couple dollars more replace all of it and be worry free for another 100k miles.
