Because the filter flange is facing upwards, I would strongly recommend you don't blast brake clean at it when the whole surrounding area is covered with mud. You're asking to wash particles down into the filter return passage.

they need to fire the person at arctic cat that designed where the oil filter screwed on. what a mess it makes. because of that ill be removing my plastic guard off the bottom and leave it off so i can work on everything easily

Yeah not the best design. The worst part about the arctic cats is that parts are harder to find.
