2007 B6 Passat 1.9TDI in tank fuel lift pump testing.

This is a quick video for VW owners to include Passats mainly on the B6 platform. In tank fuel lift pump checks and test. Pumps and configurations vary from car to car. This is to be said for Golfs, Jettas, and other models. This video was filmed using a 2007 Passat 1.9tdi manual 5 speed.
This is primarily for people who had an otherwise perfectly working car 5 mins ago and suddenly it cut out and wouldn't restart.
Remember don't go too deep into the engine until you've removed the simplest of reasoning and logic.

This is a good video applied to my 2005 b6 2.0tdi aswell. Two things I noticed before fuel pump went car didn't always start well had to tap accelerator and when driving fast 3 and 4th gear there would sometimes be a stutter at top revs. Changed fuel pump and put In a new Mann fuel filter And car now starts and performs better with no random stutter

My 2008 golf had the glow plug flashing light coming on at 65 mphbin 3rd gear. It went out once the engine was turned off and on again but would repeat at 65. Today when I turned it off and on the glow plug went off but check engine lit up.

Very helpful thanks ,can the pumps work intermittently because we have those symptoms very often i normal fill the filer housing with fuel and it will be ok for a few weeks then i fails again.?

Thank you,i have the same symptoms, car just stop 5 min away from my house,fist thing what i will check is the fuell.filter,on the scan is no erorr at all,car was run verry smooth day before ,i will.check it soon Thank you for the video Ps,,,is the feed pump.located on the driver side behind or passenger side?

Does all diesel engines have an in tank low fuel pressure?
