2007 Cadillac STS Corroded Fuse Panel pt. 2

Replaced the fuse panel with a used part and that fixed part of the problem. Found a connector unplugged, 17:15, by the battery that opened the Can bus network. Customer must have unplugged when replacing the battery. Now the engine has running issues.

Hey Philip I got the same cadillac sts does the same no crank no start but just for a couple times then starts on like a dream and won't do that for a couple days or weeks. The check engine light does come on by itself when the car wants to no crank no start. I can hear clicking and the fuel pump working do and the connector c101 is connected by the battery. I wish I had all the fancy scanners you have but I don't already change starter, ignition switch, crankshaft sensor. Do you think there's a ground issue with my car? Like I said the car does start right up after few attempts.

Unfortunately there are a lot of possibilities for your intermittent no crank condition. I would suggest to scan the ECM and security systems for codes that might be related. Next I would suggest to temporarily install a test light to the control terminal at the starter and ground. Place the light where you can see it each time the engine is cranking. When it does not start note what the light does. If it is lighting but the starter is not cranking then the starter needs to be replaced. If it does not light when it does not crank then there is a problem with the control circuit. Could be the starter relay is intermittent. Try swapping or replacing it. Need to watch data on the ECM for crank request and safety switch position from the transmission controller. Hope you can catch it in the act. Good luck

Schematic shows fuse 17 or 18 feed ignition voltage to the pink wire at the MAF. It is a 10amp fuse. HTH

I have problem with my maf sensor. I have zero power feed to the MAF fuse. To the maf i still have 11,88v on the red constant wire , 4,22v on the yellow wire, good ground and 2,55v signal at idle. Sounds like a to high signal at idle and to low voltage on the yellow? All the wires from the maf i have done a ohm test and looks good. I have code p1101 and p0101. Do you know where i can get my hands on some wiring diagrams? Best regards

I got air suspension and it’s been off, I think it’s a fuse, wondering if youre familiar with such a fuse.

@@PhillipBailey the rear air ride suspension never turns on so it’s really bouncy in the back. Kind of dangerous actually. I looked at the fuse box in the back underneath and the rear seats, but ran out of daylight.

@@eliasbutcher859 you need to scan the suspension control module for codes first. Need a full function scan tool. The shocks have a tendency to leak the the compressor runs too much and burns out. Start with a scan.

Hi, do you know which fuse is for the front signal bulb?

The front signal bulb is not on a separate fuse as far as I can recall. If the other side works I'd say your fuse is ok. The owners manual is your best source for fuse locations. I just looked at the schematic and the signals are supplied power from the Rear Integration Module. If there's a short in the circuit it would likely shut the driver down. You need a full function scan tool to check codes and data in the RIM. You could try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes to clear codes and see if that works.

How did you get bcm out this is my exact car and I'm having weird electric issues just like this. No dome lights if I dim or mess with switches the car freaks out gauges go flat and even has shut off while going down road. Any info?

The BCM is behind the glove box. Its a pita to access. I doubt thats your problem unless you have a windshield leaking water onto it. Its normally pretty protected under the dash. You need to perform a network scan of all controllers to see what codes are setting. You cant simply try a used bcm cause its vin specific and the passive antitheft would need to be reprogrammed. Im not certain if a used bcm can be reflashed to a new vin. Check the underwood fuse and relay center for corrosion. Good luck

Ya the dome lights only work sometime and if I go to carwash it makes it worse. I know one of the computers are under front end right where they'd be sprayed by underbody wash. Could that be a thing?

My car isn't worth much but it's all I have and I can't afford to pay 1300 on a guess right now at the dealership lol my buddy has a newer snap on scan tool that we try and use but we really don't know what to look for etc.

I'm having the same problem in 2006 sts thinking it's something with the security system Whst is the red light on the bottom left of the start button?

I'm not exactly sure what that little red led is for. I believe it illuminates if you press the start button without depressing the brake pedal. The network problem on this car was customer induced. He unplugged connector 101 beside the battery when he was changing the battery. Originally had corrosion in the fuse panel. We are in a high road salt area here. You need a decent scan of the network. Good luck.

Me too I just swap the engine and now I’m having the same problem, it’s will happen when you disconnect the purple connector next to the battery. Have you fixed it yet?

Phillip Bailey Oh I see, I had timing chain problem too that’s why I replaced the engine and since I unplugged that connector. Im having this problem. So what do I need to do in order to get the engine running again? Reflash the computer or tune it ? Or what exactly? When I plug the codes reader It’s will gust give me an error massage.

The diagram shows a Radio/Onstar 10 amp fuse in the right rear fuse center and a 30 amp AMP fuse in the left rear fuse center. good luck. Usually the fuses are in the owners manual.

@@erikoroscoe1051 some fuses only have power when the particular circuit is activated. The headlight fuses are a good example. Will only be live with the headlights on. What are the fuse numbers and what are they for?

@@PhillipBailey Thank you for replying. I got 3 fuses that don't give off power they are, LT PARK (10A), RT PARK (10A), and LIC/DIMMING (7.5A). I've checked them with the vehicle off and on. I can also hear a click noise coming from my hood fuse box. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏.

I don't have the vehicle here. If my memory serves me correctly the two 10mm bolts hold the bottom connectors into the panel. they have to be loosened and I believe there are plastic clips on the edges. Plus some connectors to unplug. Sorry wish I could remember more.
