There were multiple problems with this car. Corrosion in the fuse panel was the initial problem but the customer created an additional problem by leaving a connector beside the battery disconnected which created the loss of communication with the PCM and Transmission computers. Good luck.

What did you find my problem started when I broke a rear brake line this winter,I blocked off the brake line at the master cylinder and used it only to go to the local store I live in the country

Remove the relay, note that the pins on the relay are numbered. Locate pins 30 and 87 in the fuse box by looking at the relay. Remember it will be a mirror image. Use a small piece of wire to jump pins 30 to 87 in the fuse box. If the starter is good the engine should crank. If the ignition is on the engine should start. Make sure it's in park.

I have a 06 cadi dts cranks but cuts right off. Could it be the ignition switch ?

You mean it starts but shuts off immediately? If thats the case could be an Antitheft issue. Are there any security lights or messages on after it stalls? Any codes?

I have cadillac cts 2006 It all started replacing turn signal light, the dealers at the local place replaced the pcm it worked for while and past 8 months no crank I have to bypass start relay every time to crank, some days it work fine but leaving overnight same trouble

Does it generate any codes in the PCM, BCM or security systems. Need to view the status of the crank request, gear positions in the PCM. Need to scan the TCM for codes as well. I dont think its security as you said it starts by bypassing the starter relay. The ignition switch is an input to the BCM, the BCM communicates with the security module and sends a start request to the PCM. The PCM communicates with the TCM to make sure its not in drive or reverse and the energizes the start relay. Check data in the PCM to see it its commanding the starter relay on. Could be wiring obviously. Good luck

Phillip Bailey why leave everybody hanging as far as the results. This morning I went out to my car and turned the key and the PCM was communicating and the car started right up. I drove the car and the tranny was shifting properly unlike it did when I jump started it by shorting the connections for the relay that turns the starter. For those of you jump starting your starter this is only a temporary fix to drive the car very slowly to your destination. I TRULY BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM IS OCCURRING BECAUSE OF AN INTERMIITENT RELAY ISSUE WITH THE SECURITY SYSTEM. Therefore, I will not being arming my alarm anymore unless the problem returns which will rule out the security system.A weird thing happened yesterday. When I put the ignition in the start position and closed the door to check under the hood the doors locked with out me pushing the remote which was locked in the car. Thank GOD my son was in the car and was able to unlock the door. That happening let me know something is wrong with the SECURITY SYSTEM. Your thoughts and conclusion Phillip?

Not meant to leave you hanging but there is a part 2: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4G7qYullJ2cmMk this vehicle had several problems mostly due to corrosion in the fuse panel. (we are in a salt use belt here). This was then aggravated by the customer unplugging a connector near the battery when he installed a replacement battery. His initial problem was the battery going dead, and intermittent no start. There is also a third video on this car once I did get it running. Has timing chain issues due to lack of maintenance. There are dozens of possible causes for intermittent no start conditions. Need to start with a complete network scan of all controllers. A security issue should log codes in the PCM and Security system. HTH good luck. Plus he still owes me money for the last diagnosis!

I have several. My main go to is a Snapon Verus Edge but I also on occasion will use an Autel Maxisys Elite. I do have Ford IDs, GM MDS and Chrysler Witech as well.

Initial problem was corroded fuse panel and voltage drops in the fuse panel. Customer created a new problem by unplugging a connector beside the battery that opened the network disabling communication with the PCM, TCM and ABS computers.

@@zakparkin6346 Once I figured it out I simply plugged it back it. There are lots of very similar symptoms that could be caused by many things, even battery cables and connectors. It's difficult to say what to recommend without having some test equipment on it. Sorry wish I could be more helpful. Yes check all fuses, pull relays and look for corrosion. You need a factory level scan tool to start with. Good luck

@@PhillipBailey I ended up using dielectric grease on all my computer plugs ecm tcm and abs module I also ran a extra ground wire from ecm to where the battery ground is on the body and my CTS is working ever since.

I've never heard of that load pro tool before. How do you like it? Looks a little quicker to use than the light bulb method I've always used.

I have same issue with my Cadillac STS-V 2008, I thought it was battery and I replaced it by new one and still same thing, I am seeking your advice if I start trublshootig the fuses box? And did you able to run the car?

Not sure what part of the world you are in as the use of calcium chloride on our roads here to melt ice and snow contributes to these types of problems. The fuse box failure was one problem but the car still would not start because the customer had left a connector near the battery unplugged and this caused an open in the computer network. There are many possible causes for a no crank condition.
