so i have an 04 malibu lt and i’m wondering will i lose my factory remote start if i replace the radio? and also my car has the hole for the smaller grey plug on the back of the radio but no harness plugged into it like yours? is it because it’s the maxx model or is it a trim level thing?

So just to be clear, you would cut the wires that run to the factory plug, get rid of the factory plug, and then splice the wires for the new harness to the wires still in the dash, correct? the factory plug you had here really would have been the remaining wiring

No you don’t cut anything you just buy a radio kit for the car at it has an adapter that you just connect the wires to the new radio plug that comes with the radio and it simply plugs in to the old plug.

If you put radio in your car you will lose your drive information center you need a PAC RPK4-GM2301 Dash and Wiring Kit

thanks for watching the video. so this was not hardwired i used the pac c2r-gm11b wire harness so it literally gave me what i needed so you dont have to try and find an ignition from the fuse box or anything it provides you 12volts ignition i got the link in the description
