I have been asked if this will work for a 2008 Denali. The answer is yes as long as the only reason the light is on is due to the shocks being bad or replaced. If the light is on for another reason you will need to do more diagnostics.

What type of resistors are those? How many watts? I have a couple resistors left over that I used to keep my turn signal LEDs from hyper flashing and I’m wondering if I could use those.

The service suspension light will also come on if you have worn out tires. I just replaced my tires and the light went off

For the question as to does this turn off the suspension warning if the compressor is bad. Yes it did on this vehicle. The compressor was completely shot we simply left it plugged in and put in the resistors.

Thanks for this video . I bought pre-wired resistors ( bypass modules ) I'm glad to see in the comments no need to bypass the pump . However I've heard you must disconnect the battery for 30 mins to clear the code is this true ? I suppose you probably will have the battery disconnected to do the work so that would probably clear it anyway .
@YourCarGuyDR5 жыл бұрын
joseph bourdeau I did not have to have the battery disconnected, however I have heard of others who did to clear the code.

They sell plug and play resistors they screw onto the shock. And the harness plugs right into it. I believe those resistors get really hot. So maybe a metal tie strap might be better
@YourCarGuyDR6 жыл бұрын
STEVEN MALVASIO do you have any part numbers for the plug and play resistors. It would be great to share that info.

Should the resistors be 50W 8-Ohm or anything in the vicinity say 4 ohm and 100W would be fine too?

I got a set of 50w resistors for my 2007 GMC Yukon and added them to the rear shocks like you showed in the video but some how mt compressor still comes on and idea why?
@YourCarGuyDR5 жыл бұрын
Daniel Ferrer the vehicle will run a compressor test at startup. If the compressor comes on for a few seconds then shuts off then it is just the test. If it stays on it is trying to adjust the ride height. The ride height sensors are separate from the active suspension resistors.
@samsen39654 жыл бұрын
@@YourCarGuyDR So can't you remove simply remove the fuse in the fuse box for the compressor? And not have the error on the dash, if resistors are installed?

Will the resistors turn the service ride control light if I removed the air compressor completely from vehicle

@@YourCarGuyDR so what happened? I removed my compressor completely and would like to get rid of the light.
@YourCarGuyDR5 жыл бұрын
Apocalypse you will likely have to add a resistor that mimics the compressor resistance as it does the self test. I haven’t had to do this yet and as such ha ent played with it to determine which wires and resistance needed.

this does not work on 2014 Escalade... Also I dont know why you would put something in like a 50w6 ohm resistor when original connection and shock does not have those components in to begin with,,,, Also why would you put in an electrical component that heats up to a level and degree that melts plastic .... That right there should tell you that it dont belong in your car to start with... I tried this fix, the resistors run super HOT and after speaking with multiple people that Actually certified, this is the feed back received
@YourCarGuyDR4 жыл бұрын
Alex B interestingly enough my resistors have been in for over a year with no heating or melting issues and haven’t had any codes. The resistors that I used were specifically spec’ed for this application.
