2007 Kawasaki ZX6R wont start *FIXED*

This bike has been wrecked a handful of times and would not start. It would run on starter fluid however. After having the injectors professionally cleaned, replacing the fuel pump and crossing my fingers it fired right up. I believe the tank seal was bad due to being wrecked and moisture worked its way into the tank causing all sorts of problems. I have put 10,000 great miles on it since. Hope this helps! If anyone comes across this video and are seeking answers.. my bike just went through this and after a couple of days and running through different solutions, I think I found out why and how to fix. Things I've done... Change spark plugs Clean off contacts to majority of the plugs Clean fuel pump - none of those solved the problem but actually made my bike much more responsive when I got it running. -- took tank back off Drained all of the old gas from the tank and the gas lines Reconnected all gas lines Placed tank back on after ALL gas emptied I added seafoam injector cleaner to my tank before adding fresh new gas Turned bike on and off (not cranking) Just so the fuel pump could prime up. Took about 3-4 starts until bike kicked all the way in and stayed fired up without cutting off. Let bike run so the new fuel and injector cleaner could run through the system. Bike is running better than before. Plan on doing my oil change tomorrow. The new plugs really gave me added power. The bike is so responsive now. Hope this may kinda help.

@@aljulandab7ri890 watch your fuel pump... ended up going through a lot more trouble later on... most likely came from the bad fuel from this situation. If your bike ever starts bogging out around 7000 rpm and up...replace your whole fuel pump(not just the motorized pump but the whole fuel pump assembly) the assembly has 2 filters..one can be changed or cleaned but the other is built into the assembly and cannot be changed. Safe journeys!

First order a new fuel sock from Amazon then pull the tank and clean fuel pump then replace fuel sock!

I've experienced the same thing on the ZX10R in 2010... at first the motor power was reduced and finally the motorbike was hard to start every morning... after I checked it turned out that the fuel pump was no longer working... finally I replaced the fuel pump with the Quantum brand

Starter fluid is not cool, that’s why it was knocking from pre detonation. Starter fluid is the quickest what to damage your motor.

Does pre detonation happen when fuel isn’t getting to the spark plugs and starter fluid acting as fuel? Hypothetically if fuel issue is solved it should clack like that right

Seriously I want to know too. I have this problem with my CBR600RR. Standing there for 10 years. Changed Fuel, oil, spark plugs, batter. Still only cranks and no start. I wonder if I can use this starter fluid.

Me too, 2009 zx6, makes a loud buzzing noise, put the battery on the tender, autozone even said it was good, thinking it's the starter silnod

Gosh I feel sorry for that stator. Your wearing that out and the engine. The bike would need a new engine if you keep spraying

1. The stator does not have to do anything about the engine getting wear. 2. The starter motors are built for this 3. An engine thats not even hitting 600rpms during start has little to no wear as long as there is oil in the engine

To me it's your starter clutch (sprag clutch) doesn't sound like its even grabbing the crank or turning the motor at all? Had this exact on an 848. Replaced sprag fired up first time.

@@krokzy3572 Check compression on all four cylinders first, if all ok, remove sparks and test them in their coilpaks against the frame hold it close to if, if it sparks on all 4 spark plugs then you dont have spark issue. So it can only be air of fuel. Check air filter isnt blocked but probably is fine. So can only leave fuel left. Off memory is 2002 on carbs or fuel injectors? If its carbs I would suggest cleaning them all specifically the pilot jets or send them off. Then balance them, but prior to that check your fuel tank is also clear of rust or debris, if its been stood for a while water may of accumulated and will prevent healthy firing. If its fuel injection and not carbs make sure you clean fuel filter first and check injectors are clean / working. Take fuel pump off the bike and also test that is working. It simply a result of not getting fuel, air or spark. Fuel having the most potential queries. My bet is some kind of fueling issue carb balance etc. Hope this helps let us know how you get on.
