I have owned an LS400 a 1993. I picked it up about three years ago in 2020. It had only been a California car, one owner, garaged and I was excited at the low mileage of 89K. Well taken care of Black with Tan leather interior. Not a fancy interior but excellently put together. Super comfortable seats front and rear. Smooth as silk engine, I had to try the glass of water on top of the motor that was in some of the commercials for this car. Even when bringing up the RPM'S, almost zero "jiggle" in a full glass of water! The model I bought did not have EVERY option that was available but most of them. Great sound by Nakamichi . I have done very little to the car, I did get a professional detail done and the body paint shown as if just rolling out of the showroom. Only a very few tiny little pits barely noticeable. The headliner was coming down a bit in the front along the windshield, took it to an interior guy and he was able to take care of that. I did buy all new tires and wheels for it, I did not care for the stock ones that much. I have taken many trips in it over the three years, no problems, a real road warrior and did quite well on mileage as well. I just hit 117K so its broken in now for sure and I look forward to being one of those owners that got almost a million miles out of this engine and overall the car. Then I was looking at Lexus cars for sale and saw a 2007 Lexus LS460L for sale in Florida. Almost all the options that were available, and this was a corporate owned vehicle used to ferry around clients in comfort. Only 77K miles! Both the exterior and the interior in pristine condition. All new Michlin tires, stock wheels but look in new condition. I did some research and learned about some expensive "problems" on this model, the brake actuator for one, and the sway arms (there are multiple on this model) giving grief early on in the mileage. I also new that with all the electronics/computer options that in future I most likely would have to take it to a dealer to have fixed. But I am recently retired from 35 yrs of USAF and I figure I deserve a luxury vehicle to take on my longer trips. The sticker for this car was still with the 3 inch thick owners manual, Just shy of $80K, and I got this one for 17K. It is basically still a new car and I am willing to get into my wallet a bit for those pesky problem fixes IE brake actuator, suspension arms as I could have never afforded this car new. The engine has very good longevity if maintained properly, so I am ok with the pesky things happening. The ONLY thing it isn't is AWD, nor does it have the air suspension system and I am glad it was RWD and does not have the Air Suspension as that was also problematic according to my research. All in all, I love the car, it will last me the rest of my life for sure. I took it to my insurance agent to request upgraded coverage. When the adjuster came out and looked it over with a fine tooth comb, he said it was no problem for them to give full coverage to the tune of $17K minus deductable of course due to the pristine condition. Of course that type of full coverage is a bit more expensive, but worth it for a while anyway as if an accident happened early on in my ownership, it could easily be deemed totalled as they are super pricey to fix and then I would have only got the book value of it, which would have been a good loss for me considering the price I paid for it. Murphy's law if I hadn't put the special coverage on it, sure as heck some idiot would plow into me broadside and I'd be out big bucks. I carry State Farm, I have 4 cars, one large box truck, and my home insurance all with them, so they were good about making it happen to have the better valuation in case of........ My sister lives on my property as well and she won't drive it unless I am in the car as well! She owns a 23 yr old Ford Taurus SEL with the big Duratec motor, it hasn't even reached 150K yet and it is only worth whatever someone wanted to pay for it ....maybe 2500.00, so she says no way she is driving a car that I just paid 17K for!

Hi claudiadickerman4218, Thanks for watching I do appreciate it and it helps the channel. Thats great your love for Lexus vehicles. Lexus make some beautiful cars. The LS400 AND LS460 were 2 of the most amazing cars I have reviewed with so much tech and 2 great engines and yes the water test always works. I really enjoyed reviewing this one and the LS400. Yes I would keep it forever as it will go the distance and are so comfortable. It's a Shame your sister won't drive it without you but one day she may do on her own. Thanks again.

Damn that 460 has all the bells and whistles! All window shades, back seat navigation and heated seats. I thought only the L version had all that.

Hello sir can you help me how to find the production year of the Ls460 just only by seeing the car differences among 2007-2017
@agautomotive Жыл бұрын
Hi shurkymarzook-eg2rn, Thanks for watching I do appreciate it and it helps the channel. So you are correct. The production Years of the LS460 was 2007-2017. This is from Google as to what was updated within those years. www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_LS&ved=2ahUKEwjJ0-nL_KeAAxUzgVYBHR6xACUQFnoECCAQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2y-P5eFFEA1rAM0hL5MtvT Thanks again for watching.

what's the average MPG you get on this model?
@agautomotive Жыл бұрын
Hi bluemagic5829, So lexus states the 460 would get about 20 MPG. Here in Australia we use l/100 so that is about 11 litres/100kms but in day to day driving this would use around 13-14 litres/100kms which is around 18 MPG. It does depend on your driving style and if you use the freeway/highway or not.

Air pressure light is on???
@agautomotive Жыл бұрын
Hi kimbilinkimbilion, Thanks for watching i do appreciate it. I looked it up and here is what to do. With your LS460 off, turn the ignition to the ON position, but don't start the car. Beneath the steering wheel, you'll find the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) reset button-press and hold it until the flashing TPMS light blinks three times. Try this and see how you go. Thanks
