The Nissan Tiida is a compact car (as subcompact for US model) that first released in Japan in September 2004 and added Sedan version called Tiida Latio later in October (both sold for 2005 model year). The styling was inspired by 2nd generation Renault Mégane (the Nissan Sentra also inspired by this) and unveiled its concept car as Nissan C-Note in 2003.
In North America marketed as Versa debuted in July 2006 for 2007. It introduced to be the subcompact car between Sentra (compact), Altima (mid-size) and Maxima (full-size) and only 4-door passenger car in NA that sold worldwide (Sentra, Altima and Maxima was sold exclusively in NA). It powered by 1.8 litres DOHC gasoline engine with 122 hp coupled with 4AT, 4CVT and 6MT (replaced by 1.6 litres gasoline engine with 107 hp for 2009 coupled with 5MT and 4AT optional). The body trim including S and SL.
In Thailand marketed as Tiida and Tiida Latio for Sedan released in June 2006. It replaced Sunny Neo (called Bluebird Sylphy in Japan) and using 1.6 litres and 1.8 litres engine both gasoline.
In Malaysia marketed as Latio and Latio Sport for Hatchback unveiled in May 2007 and sold in June. The body trim were have ST, ST-L and Ti.
In Singapore was sold as Tiida and Tiida Latio for sedan along with Sunny (N16) until 2011.
In Indonesia was sold only with 1.8 litres engine. The 1.6 is made for taxi or fleet car.
These ads was released and aired in mid 2006.
