2007 Rav4 Transmission mount replacement

Old video but what was the symptom that led to you finding the mount was bad? Edit* i see the other comment. I'm getting a clunk when going from park to reverse/drive, even worse when going from reverse to drive. Once I'm driving it shifts flawless.

Yes in the previous comment I explained about the vibrating when in idle! So what you could do to check if it’s the motor mounts is you can open the hood, have someone else in the driver seat to start the car and shift through the gears while keeping their foot on the brake. If there’s a lot of motion in the engine movement when switching the gears, it’s most likely the mounts. Hope you figure it out and my video is helpful for one of the mounts if it needs replacement!

@stephenmatthewortiz8976 it definitely has been helpful, thank you! Mine isn't bad at idle and is really only clunky the first time or two into drive and not after that. But I think it's that trans mount. I was planning on looking at the engine next, just had to wait to get some help. Thanks again!

I was looking for the torque cause I replaced all of them but no one has them for them online but you somehow do hopefully they right Thanks this if after doing everything by hand tight lol

Hey Stephen, Thanks for the video. Were there obvious signs the mount needed replacement? My car shakes pretty badly when I go from neutral to drive after the car has warmed up a bit and was wondering if that might be a symptom. I had an engine mount replaced a couple years ago that was obviously bad which helped a lot but the shaking didn't go away completely.

Yes, the exact issue you’re mentioning was caused by the mounts needing replacement. There should be 4 total

Would you still get very very low vibration? Or will it be perfect silent like when got off dealership?

Honestly because it’s a 17 year old car, there’s only so much you could do to completely get it back to like it was when it was brand new. The mounts 100% worked with the vibration, but you could also change the spark plugs, coil pack, and clean the fuel system to help even more!

Hey man, I have a 2007 V6 RAV4 and I noticed on cold start when I put the car into drive. I noticed it shakes a decent bit and also when the car is still warming up to operating temperature, I can feel the car shift and it feels pretty hard. But when the car is fully warmed up after 20 to 30 minutes of driving, the car feels completely normal and shifts normally and goes into drive normally. do you think it’s a transmission mount or is it all 4 mounts?

Los vehículos no se levantan por ahí, eso rompe todos los soportes, a menos que lo que quiera es levantar el motor, pero antes tienes que soltar todos los pernos de los soportes que sujetan el motor.
