this may not mean much, but i remember that day being a triple-header of women's college basketball on CBS with this game as the nightcap. it was a good lineup, though, i think it started with Ohio St vs Kentucky. Neither Uconn nor Tennessee were #1 in this game, but the lineup featured #1 Maryland vs #18 Michigan state before this game. Ever since this day i haven't seen a lineup like this. basically, people got to see the #1 team play, then they got to see the hottest rivalry game in women's basketball. they just don't make lineups like that anymore.

Great rivalry. UConn may be on the track to another NC in 2021. TN is rebuilding. WCBB keeps getting better mainly because middle school and high school programs are soaring. Watch some of the 2020 Minn AAAA championship to see how good the Hopkins team is at kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWXWq5d6jqxpiaM Sure players like Paige Bueckers are getting big press, but the team play in top high school programs rival many college programs.
