2007 Toyota Camry- accessing door blend actuator

Removing floor duct to access the actuator if you need to repair/replace actuator. In my case there was no heat coming from blower when knob was in hot setting. I also could hear a spring release sound from the actuator every time I turned the temperature control knob. I fixed the sound but eventually the problem turned out to be coolant. Hope this helps someone.

For anyone needing to know how to remove this part. The easiest way is to use 2 picks. 1 90 degree for the patch on the side (Yes. You do have to touch that one). And a 45 degree pick for the top and bottom. 1.) Using the 90 degree pick, gently lift the catch on the side until it is over the stud. 2.) Using the 45 degree pick, pry the catch on the top up to clear its post and the bottom catch down to clear its post. I found that if you insert the 45 degree pick in the space near the center of the car and get under the catch, you can easily pry those top and bottom catches over their post. Once I figured this out it took about 30 seconds to remove.

I just change 09 Camry actuator last week. I remove the 3 screws then put a pry bar between the actuator and the heater unit to gain enough space to remove it. Make sure you know which pin is on which track before remove the actuator because it took me an hour to figure it out. It took me 3-4 hours and $50 from rockauto.

Please help, I remove my blend door and i notice one of the gear on the side( not on the actuator) clip are broken , but i cannot find that small black clip that hold the gear together.

It’s difficult to remove. Once all the screws were removed I used a small pry bar to push the shaft of the white gear towards the blower housing. The shaft you see goes into a hole, once you pry it out far enough it will pop out and also disengage the pin that follows the side of the gear. This is only half the battle, you need to reinstall it, and there is no room to easily do so. Still working in that……….. The blend door actuator and the A/C servo are two separate units attached to the cover we see. I only need to replace the A/C servo. So I’m going to cut the housing so the servo can be removed and reinstalled without needing to deal with the lack of space at the blend door actuator end.

Supposedly you remove the 3 screws that are attached to it then remove it. I did removed those 3 screws but can't get it out. Maybe it needs something else too

Did you ever figure this out? I think I have the same problem. I have an 08 Camry hybrid and when I start my car the defrost button blinks for 45ish seconds before I can turn the hvac system on. One on I get air blowing between defrost, face and foot all at the same time. I have everything removed as far as this video goes but don’t know how to remove the full piece that is pointed to in the video. Can’t find any info online either
