SYMPTOMS OF BAD BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR
In this video we will cover the symptoms of bad blend door actuator. We will explain the most common symptoms of bad blend door actuator based on our experience at the shop. When blend door actuator starts going out you may notice clicking and noise coming from behind the dash when you first start the car or when you change the heater setting or ac settings. When the blend door actuator quits working properly you may notice that the heater may blow cold air instead of blowing hot air and the A/C air conditioner may blow warm or hot air instead of cold air. This will be caused because the blend door actuator will not be able to move the gate that mixes hot and cold air behind the dash. If you have dual climate control you may have 2 blend door actuators, one blend door actuator will control the driver heating settings and the other will work for the passenger side. Great video. My 2015 Mustangs heater was all over the place... hot, cold, nothing... but the blower worked. Thought it might be the blend door actuator but it turned out that it was something totally different: A small leak in the radiator house drained the overflow reservoir to the point that it tripped the "low coolant level sensor". This sent my heater wacky. Temp fix: Fill the overflow reservoir. Permanent fix: Replace the hose.

when the actuator is removed, should you be able to turn the knob that controls the flap? mine does not move at all, and I have hot air out of 3 vents and only a little AC from one vent

for your info, there are 3 door actuators on Fiesta: 604-400 Mode actuator (driver side), 604-251 Air Inlet (behind the glove case) and the 604-322 Temperature actuator (at the left of glove case near controls)

Hey bro can you please help me. On my alfa 156 2002 with digital climate control. Air mix flap is when heating always stuck on hot. I put my head down and saw the air mix flap motors on the both side they are when I put on 23°c it always slowly goes up and opens on 33 (hottest) so what's the problem the motors or the climate unit

if my temperature is at 80%+ it sounds like ticking like the fan is hitting something, goes faster when the fan is set faster, if i put the temperature colder at the same fan speed the noise dissapears, could it be this thing doing that?

My 2006 Mazda Tribute the A/C only comes out of the Defrost vent and NOTHING out of the dashboard vents . Is this part the problem ? I don’t understand why no air comes out of the dash vents , but cool air does come out by feet and windshield. Thanks

Check your ac fan/radiator fan. It may also just need more freon

I purchased a 2010 Nissan Armada. I called the dealer and explained what that the two vents on either side of the steering wheel are blowing cold and passenger vent is hot. I explained this over the phone and dealer wants $3,000 impossible amount of money.

Does is blow hot when the AC is on? All the time? If it doesn't try leaving your car's temperature setting on cold when you're not using the climate control. I feel the heat when I leave my car in the heat position as well.

I have a similar problem in my 2009 Ford Fiesta. I've tried to change the Heater Flap Position motor but the problem still remains. The Heater Flap Position motor is working but instead of only opening/closing a percentage of the door according to the set temperature, it only fully opens the blend door in the High mode, but if I turn it to 28º or 27º, it automatically fully closes the door. It should only close a bit, and only if I set the temperature to 16º (minimum) should fully close the door. Do you have any idea of what the issue could be? Thank you!

Try glove compartment 1st. Leaves & debris get caught in there,& that flap can b loose,or fallen down completley.

@@ViperJay5 I figured out mine after ridiculous foreman asked me to change every other part. the culprit was just simply, the thermistor. A cheap small part usually located near your cooling coil.

Question, my temperature is stuck on cold on my vehicle (heat will not blow out even if you set to heat). Also there is about a 1 minute delay of the ac panel turning on (no air will blow through the system and the led panel which usually shows what temp and if the air is blowing to the feet or face is completely blank until that minute or so is up then the panel will turn on and the cold air can start blowing) would that also be the blend door actuator causing that?
