In my opinion its easier to support trans with jack then remove battery tray and remove motor mount. Then jack up the trans to clear the front control arm bushing bolt. But that working on the ground. Wish I had room for a lift.

Some guys said they can remove the dogbone and swing the whole engine and gearbox to the front, and there should be enough room to take the bolt out. Possible? I am afraid this might damaging the exahast pipe.

Not with dsg it won't. But it does give enough room after removing subframe bolts.

Well the new control arms he is installing is the wrong part, the one he removed is cast and he is putting a sheet metal one, the cast is used if your car is equipped with automatic dynamic headlight range control.

Idk who designed this bs bolt next to the transmission, I promise it would have not costed much to not do that but of course over-engineering had to take place.
