MK3 Jetta Polyurethane Bushing Install ( Frustrating )

The outer bushings are cake to install but the inner sub frame bushing is such a pain.

I remember on the mk4 sway bar bushing it was impossible to start the bolt in the bracket without using a longer bolt.

I had to almost complete drop the rear of the sub frame to get the bushings on my vr6. It was a all day thing lol

Christian, Use Casey’s car jack to push it up, compressing it enough to get the bolt threaded in.

What part of the car is sitting on those jack stands? I have an mk3 tdi and never though there was anything solid up front to rest it on other than the subframe or liftpoint behind the wheels.

Second try with this question- Did you custom fab the switch panel where the ash tray is? I'm putting in switches and that's a dope setup I'd like to steal the idea of.

Use your jack to press the bar (bussing) like you did it before, the metal plate, closer it gets to the frame the easy the bolt will get in

The slit part of the bushing supossed to be on the bottom and then squeeze the clamp with a visegrip plyers

Lucila Rodriguez I put the bushing in the same way the factory one came out and it had the slit on the back side too also the groves for the bracket go on top like how I had it if I put the slit part to the bottom the groves wouldn’t of been in the right location

Christian, Use your jack to jack up the subframe closer to the bracket.

mk2 jetta vr6 turbo getting the subframe closer wasn’t the issue it was getting the bracket to come down to meet the subframe. If I just pushed the subframe up there was no room to move the bracket at all to push it down to meet the subframe lol

There are different size bushings for different size bars. You might have the smaller bushing, and the larger bar. No way youll get it in if that is the case.

If you want a Van get a Mk1 or Mk2 Sharan with the VR6. You even can get em with Allwheeldrive. And they arent super expensive.

Dude if you are working in the floor without the correct tool and with no experiences just in your car or friends cars will be frustrating... The first law working with vw and audi is if you get frustrated buy a honda . you have to lift the car high .. I do not imajine of you see a audi v8 twin turbo for chains or for breather . found you hanging on a tree.
