Thinking of getting the same flash. Was it worth the money 💰? People say you don't get much out of the flash with the gen3. Any info would be awesome. Bike looks and sounds great!!!!

The flash gave me a noticeable difference but it’s not as dramatic as on the newer bikes. It was worth it when I did it to mine but their prices went up. It basically only removed restrictions but the gen 3 isn’t super restricted. I would do it or look into woolich.

Just got me a gen3 zx10r and i was wondering of its modefied ik it has a custom straight pipe and that ive hit 182mph in 5th gear and 189mph in 6th with about 1k rpms left to go. Any idea of thats normal
@vasilisgreen3 жыл бұрын
the 180 tire is why you had those numbers. The 180 tire has a lower profile than a 190, meaning a shorter wheel diameter and thus a higher wheel torque. At the same time, 180 tires are fitted into 5.5" rims while 190s are fitted onto 6" rims. your rim is 6" and that 180 tire had to stretch on a wider rim than what it's designed too, giving you an even shorter wheel diameter than a normal 5.5" rim setup. You have much more wheel torque than what you should based on the bike's original setup and the dyno is thrown off. You've also lost a bit of top speed because you will now run out of revs but you have gained in acceleration. On the other hand, your turn-in should now be slower because of the reduced wheel height, your stability is compromised and the beads might not be as secure as they should be. Don't put tires that your bike isn't designed for. Go get a proper 190/55 tire for your bike. Bigger contact patch isn't necessarily better.
@kawasakicruisader56003 жыл бұрын
I was using the bike for swb drag racing so I wanted more contact patch. You’re right on with this info tho. Bike is down for a turbo build right now. Will have so much more power to show you guys then lol.
@vasilisgreen3 жыл бұрын
@@kawasakicruisader5600larger contact patch doesn't translate into stronger grip but in longer lasting grip. It can handle more power assuming it's a bigger tire. A 180 isn't a bigger tire. Besides, contact patch is affected more by tire pressure than tire size. If you want a bigger contact patch lower your pressure. Tires are shaped in such a way that they have very similar contact patches across sizes if you use the predetermined tire pressures. Use the tire size and shape your bike was designed for, it will perform better in every aspect. If you want a faster bike make it lighter and give it more power, don't mess with its geometry.
@kawasakicruisader56003 жыл бұрын
Of course I adjust tire pressure as well regardless of size. But more of the tire contacting the track does equal more traction regardless. I have a q4 on it right now but I couldn’t tell ya if it’s a 180 or 190 but I can tell you I beat my best 1/4 time using it. And I did want a faster bike so I mailed the engine to Ireland to be built and am doing a turbo build with it. And guess what… NOT STRETCHING IT. 😱
@vasilisgreen3 жыл бұрын
@@kawasakicruisader5600 bigger contact patch means more heat, and that's why you have better grip, because its temperature goes up to good levels faster. It will also degrade faster. It's simple physics, area doesn't affect friction, contact pressure does. In summary contact patch favors some aspects that give you better grip but is detrimental to others.
@kawasakicruisader56003 жыл бұрын
You’re not saying anything wrong by any means. But in the short of things I’m saying the same thing. A bigger contact patch doesn’t equal more friction but it does mean more surface contact. I want as much of my tire getting sticky and grabbing the track as possible when I’m drag racing.

Try another shop before you start bragging about your hp to riders that really know,just to save the embarrassment, I have a gen2 and 173hp is what I have, gen1,2,3 no difference in hp,mine is not flashed but the hp comes from full exhaust, pc,air filter,the 180ish+ hp started more with gen4,5,and 2021,and tire size on that bike should be 190 or 200 55,you might have more contact in the middle on straight run but on cornering you'll have less and less lean angle, zx10r any gen 💪🏽

I also have a gen 2. Kawasaki changed the intake cam in the gen 3 so there is a difference even if slight. But my gen 3 is far from stock. However as you mentioned it will be going on a different dyno at a different shop for base numbers as well as a dual map tune. I have considered switching to the gen 5 head and injectors but my money is going other places currently.
