Excellent video, I can add one trick to save you from removing the muffler bracket and the 3 bolts. Slide a 1/4 drive extension in between the 2 spokes of the muffler bracket and then place your 10mm socket on the nut, connect the two tools and remove your nut. A 1/4 drive fits perfectly between the 2 spokes of the muffler bracket a 3/8 drive extension will be too thick.

Great tip! Honestly I'm not sure why a 1/4" drive never crossed my mind. If I ever half to tackle the EVAP canister again I'll make sure to try that!

Hi, my sister has a 08 EX35 AWD we bought in April of 2024. She’s getting random stalling at slow speeds, stop and go and stop and turn. No check engine light. We just noticed it’s stalling real bad after we fill up gas, especially after a full tank. I already changed the spark plugs, PCV Valve, Temp Sensor (in case it wasn’t reading correctly), 1 crank sensor, 4 cam sensors, both MAF’s, cleaned both throttle body’s, new air filters, new positive and negative battery terminals, new battery, synthetic oil change, fuel treatment. Next I was thinking Fuel pump And Fuel Damper. I also have a felling it could be a clogged cat because sometimes it sounds like rocks in a tin can coming from the cat area but not all the time. And I was also told it could be both VVT Solenoids. But I just looked up the gas fill up situation and from the info, it sounds like this EVAP purge Valve. What do you think? It’s suck the check engine light isn’t on. And my fancy scanner doesn’t say fuel rail pressure. It only has fuel/Air ratio and I believe that’s not it. Also there is no valve to check the fuel pressure.

Interesting enough I'm sort of in the same predicament at the moment. Not so much stalling just yet, but for me it's a lack of power. But firstly this sounds like a technical service bulletin I read years back. You may want to look into this. TSB #ITB11018 Subject: SB 07-08 G35, 08 EX35 & 09-10 FX35; Eng Hesitation/Stops Running at Idle/Low This does require getting the ECU reprogrammed at an Infiniti dealership if not at a Infniti specialized shop. Otherwise: My vehicle just has started to feel like it's lacking a bit of power and struggling to start at times as if it's low on battery, but that's not the case. No check engine light too though. Years ago I did have a check engine light for a bank 2 cat, but it kind of just went a way on its own. I have a feeling that it may still be there, but sitting as a pending code (will have to check at the end of the week, left my reader across town >.>). Those next steps would be what I would be checking too after replacing all those. The fuel system and the converters. Easiest to check would be the cats. Eric The Car Guy, amongst of ton of videos on youtube, has great videos on O2 readings and diagnosing clogged cats. Fuel pressure wise, (this required a good battery), relieve pressure to the fuel lines by opening the gas cap and leaving it open for a few minutes, put the cap back on, undo the two screws to the damper on top of the engine right of the intake manifold. Have a container underneath the damper to catch the fuel, foot off the brake pedal, prime the fuel pump by turning it to the ignition to the on position if it comes out strong then I'd say good fuel pressure, if not then bad fuel pump. If good pressure is good I would be check the injectors to see they're clogged. Of course this requires removing the intakes and fuel lines (make sure to put some paper towels deep in the intake port because the black ring spacer at the end of the fuel injectors likes to come off as you pull them off. You don't want them falling through any open valves and into the cylinders.) If everything is okay then....*shrugs* There was a TSB #ITB11018, for the ECU on Hopefully this helps a little and I'll definitely let you know if I solve something on my end. Thank you!

Appreciate you, and bummer about all the rust. East coast? I'm in Colorado they don't use salt, just wondering. I feel like I stole this one. 3 mechanic shops couldn't figure out why a different mechanic screwed something, but a year of trying to figure it out with misfires allowing it to pump raw fuel out the exhaust, thus melting down the cats. 119k mile on a '08, great body, new tires. I just bought it $700. Gutted the old melted cat to let exhaust out and reinstalled, bought Amazon coils and plug for $80. still had weird misfire, then looked for coils that could have room to have to have accidentally been crossed. Sure enough, cyl. 1 & 3 had enough length that if not careful, they could be mixed up. Swapped the coil pug connectors, fired it up and misfire gone. Found cats 2 each side connected as one 1 unit each side, dirt cheep like $120 for all, easy swap. My girlfriend just scored bigtime. My health is shot from 45 years of fixing cars. can't breathe enough to walk 5 feet. 64 years at over 100 mph, going out just like when I came into this world screaming, but this time yelling "wow, what a ride."

Thank you! These are great vehicles, but are prone to rust especially when expedited by salt on the road, but these drivetrain are bulletproof with regular maintenance. I hope you guys enjoy your EX35 and also for better health for you also.

I’m trying to figure out what hose connects to that control valve. I recently got a car from auction with that missing valve and hose.
@AwkhuardVQ
@AwkhuardVQ 10 ай бұрын
The part number for the hose is 18791-CD010. Follow the other EVAP lines and until it brings you above the subframe and there's a little black spout sticking out of the body. That's where it'll plug into.

JUST GOT THE CODE AND NOW I KNOW WHAT TO DO, DO YOU NEED TO GET OEM PART FOR IT OR AFTER MARKET SHOULD SUFFICE?
@AwkhuardVQ
@AwkhuardVQ 10 ай бұрын
I always recommend getting an OEM over aftermarket even if its used. This part shares with most Nissans and INFINITIs before 2010. If there is a local picknpull or salvage yard near you can I'd say check there first, if not, then online is your best case. You could get an aftermarket one, but YMMV on those.

P0456 is a small evap leak. There's a technical service bulletin (TSB) for most INFINITIs. Google search "NHTSA MC-10152991-9999" it'll have a step by step on how to remedy the issue. Edit: Wording
