In your video you show the crux kit swrfd-60 kit but in your link description you post a link to the swrfd-60b. I ordered the b and it doesn't connect at all. Missing 2 harnesses it looks like. But the straight 60 kit looks correct. Which did you use?

So, I have a 2012 king ranch with the factory navigation and back up camera. I hate the interface of the sync system. Can I do a swap similar to this and retain my navigation and back up camera, as well as add CarPlay?

I'm answering 2 years late because I came to this video looking for the same answer. Maybe I can answer for the next person :) Yes the two back tabs are to be removed. As a sanity check, I did see that I had originally missed that guideline in the instructions.

I have a 08 f250. Can't figure out the accessory wire that I tap Into that goes to the amp. I've read where it's blue and you made it seam like its red. Help!!!

Check your radio settings, depending on the source it may not have them turned on. For instance you have to select all in bluetooth settings, as they are usually set to front only.

Multiple times in the video it says retaining sync then says not retaining sync. I thought the entire purpose of one of your extra connectors was to retain sync. Which is it.???

That factory usb that plugs behind the glove box, where does the other end go? I know you plug one piece into the adapter which goes to the radio, but does the other piece get shut into the glove box on the vid? I just don’t know where the other end of the factory usb goes

In 8:12 of your video, the Dash Kit has 4, 2 on each side "side pieces" as you called them near the rear of the unit but in 14:42 of your video those "side pieces" are no longer there. Did you cut them off or did you use a different kit. I need a kit the that doesn't have those rear side pieces and can't seem to find them.

You didn't say how to remove the antenna cable from the old radio. The text on the video covers up your hand also so I can't really see. My cable doesn't want to come loose. What did you do, just pull really hard? Is there a secret to get it to release which you didn't mention?

It is a multi-meter. Used to check voltage and continuity. In the video he is using it to check continuity of the cut wires.

I am doing a very similar install on a 2008 F350 XLT that came with satellite radio. I am installing an alpine unit and I bought the aftermarket satellite, tuner and antenna. Is there a way for me to reuse the Ford factory satellite antenna on my roofline rather than pulling out the headliner and running a whole new aftermarket antenna. If there’s not an adapter, can I simply splice it? Thanks!

Yes, the factory sub will be retained with the harness used. Just connect the black RCA end to the Sub outputs of the radio.

That specific radio was marked up by a lot on Amazon for some reason. That radio is now discontinued and there are other cheaper radios with wireless CarPlay now

Just hooked it up and the radio screen will.not light up or do anything. Have power to the brain box. But nothing to the scree of radio.

I had this same issue. There is a +12 volt switched source under the dash near the emergency brake pedal. It is white with a blue stripe.
