These engines are easy to work on, no matter how many people say it's a headache compared to the inline 6 bla bla, its just because they didn't try it and it's just different. The real headaches are the engines made after 2016-2017, no matter the cylinder count. Even the inline 4s are so condensed, to take a wire off you need to take 3 brackets and 2 other parts. F that.

I just changed mine it was fairly easy, I looped bottom of belt down around fan then guided belt around pulleys and tensioner but let belt slack on outside of ac pulley, then pulled tensioner back and slipped belt onto ac pulley. That worked like a charm and I could do it all from the bottom of truck by myself. No Need to use pin on tensioner this way.

As always great show! I had to do that on the highway ramp at 1:30 am in freezing cold. . Not fun! If you are an expeditor is always good idea to carry a spare pulley along with your belt. Get the real thing not the cheap stuff they seized up faster.

if you look at the right side of the tensioner there is like a 5/16 hole there when you push on the tensioner slide something in it and it will lock in place.a whole lot easier when installing the belt.

@@ZimaletaMotors Btw, they make a belt thats 5mm longer that fits the "updated" bigger tensioner pulley wheel. I don't bother, I just buy the kit from Contitech (they make the OEM belt), or INA kit (they make the OEM pulleys). The kit comes with the belt together with the right sized tensioner.

The stretch belt does not have to be removed to install the serpentine belt.

What socket is that? The one your using to turn the tensioner with the breaker bar? I'm broken down in Moab, UT right now, serpentine belt and the fan belt are shredded.

Belt tensioner comes with bearing, not separate. If you want to save on yes overpriced tensioner , just buy 302 koyo bearing and use new rivets .

No special tools need to install water pump / crank belt 😱 only a zip tie and crank socket zip tie the belt to crank while using your free hand to hold belt in place while turning crank it will walk itself on and don't forget to remove zip tie booooooya
