Hi I got a great tip to remove engine fast on sprinter.on each frame rail there are 4 nuts that hold the front cradle and suspensionremove 4 nuts on each side and the steering drive shaft and lift the body up high enough to clear motor and just roll out the whole aseembly wheels and all .This is how the factory puts then together.Im a sprinter mechanic in Fredericksburg va. 45 years working on cars.lolGreat video i like the 5 cylinder the best!!!

a long time ago, I swore i'd never own a van . now I remember why. my dad's E 150 used to go through a serpentine belt every few months and he'd fiddle and futz just to change it. what a hassle

How off do you replace the fan belt since we are changing the serpentine belt? And how do you get it off?

I don’t understand how you installed the serpentine belt without taking the fan off. How do you get the belt around the fan nut? I saw your other video where you installed the belt but in that video the engine was removed from the van already. I’m stranded until I get this belt put on but I think I’m going to have to tow it to a mechanic

Thanks for this video! I believe the serpentine belt went out of my 2012 3.0 today so this is very helpful. My power steering is currently out so it is difficult to drive, however, if I understand you correctly, I COULD drive the van to dealership if necessary without risking a bigger issue such as the engine overheating. Is that correct?

Hey man, enjoy your videos. Very informative. Which scanner are you using at the end here? I have the iCarsoft MB2 which I thought was alright...but my mechanic told me it really doesn't do anything but give general codes, not precise enough to really tell what's going on. Thanks!

MB 2 is really nice and the mechanic is just trying to make you feel bad, if you got Mercedes MB 2 can do allot for you I highly recommend it, I actually was going to buy it but bought CR Plus instead that scans every model, it does scan Mercedes and believe me it’s plenty good, but there is some functionality missing that MB 2 has and it’s not to surprising, but I will learn does differences and also I will get the Mercedes official scanner MB Star it can do everything, also looking at some other model trying to decide what’s best to get

+Josh Morris 2004 To 2006 is the best year I like, this body style has been around since 1996 All Over the world? So by 2004 to 2006 they worked out all the kinks, the only thing I wish it had different to make it perfect is to have No EGR, Europe has EGR Delete kit for a long time, so lots of information is out there how to do it, but nothing solid, so what I will need to do is find all the missing pices and put them all in one video, to do EGR Delete or EGR hack which i will do, but that being said EGR is a rare problem it comes from idling your Van to much, so getting rid of the EGR would be great, so this is just part of it Part 2 I like the fact that it’s inline 5 cylinder, it’s very economical, Easy to work on, and parts generally last a while, just make sure every-once in a while observe for any lose bolts especially Oil Pan, Water Pump and High pressure Fuel Pump, make sure no broken or missing clamps for fuel or Radiator, change Pulleys in time and belt, do your oil changes on time and transmission full fluid change including torque converter, take care of the rust, change filters on time, so all this stuff I mentioned is easy to do and not expensive if you do preventative care and maintenance, there’s much more that I can say, I will save it for the video, you can check for it tomorrow, but all in all this is a great van easy to work on, parts are cheeper then new van and easy to find at a barren , so generally speaking this van can do a million miles or more, if properly maintained, and as you can see I have lots of videos on it, and make new videos every day to keep you guys informed and up to date, I really like T1N Sprinter, I do like 2006-2009 and I have my reasons and they deserve a Video if it’s own

I have the same problem, and I have the same engine. Sitting in the motel close to Canada and looking for the right parts. dealer said for two idler pulleys, tonsioner and belt $610. I found them on ebay for $210 with one day shipping for all parts. Anyway it is a little confuse me, course there's two sizes for serpentine belt, with aux ac, and w/o aux ac. And The upper idler pulley has a little grooves on it, but on ebay both idler pulleys r smooth.

+Tim Murich 1 upper pulleys have groves and 2 don’t have groves one on top left and one on tensioner but it is a little confusing I know, my 2006 has 2 pulleys 1 have grooves but other don’t but the belt goes on it so with growers makes more sense so I used 2 with grooves and on tensioner with no groves, but I noticed on 2012 that one pulley on left had no groves cause it helps route the belt, I should of taken a closer look and make a video on it to get confusion out of the way

Great video . But The little belt only turns the fan clutch. Not the water pump. I have a 2007 sprinter with 180k and changed the water pump twice. Not trying to be rude I'm just a sprinter driver looking out for others not to over heat there sprinter.
