The part Mr. Campbell is showing at 2:32 is probably AC Delco 12594578 PCV Valve Tubing. The other hose he describes at 5:00 is AC Delco W0133-2574218 which connects at one end to the PCV valve located on the valve cover next to the firewall. Hope this helps someone.

After I watched I wrapped that hose with electricians tape to see if there was a vacuum leak. Didn't fix it, But I followed your lead thinking "simple" and replaced the Vapor Canister Purge Valve ($20 on Amazon) and voila! No more stabilitrak /traction control off warnings & no more "lean conditions" reported. As an old mechanic told me decades ago - start with the cheapest before you tackle the most expensive. There's LOTS of videos describing this problem. This is the MOST concise and time saving. Apparently, there is a service bulletin for drilling the TOP HOLE of the PCV valve itself with a 7/64 drill bit and the 2 LOWER HOLES with a 5/64 drill bit. This is proclaimed to improve performance long term after a thorough cleaning/de-varnishing of the PCV valve itself. There are other consequences to this problem: The first is gunk contamination. There is reportedly a service bulletin to remove the valve covers and clean the top of the head with brake cleaner, because an inlet (Venturi?) restricts flow. Many sensors become clogged and will throw codes: vvt sensors, crank/cam position sensors, vacuum canister etc. *Check/clean these before letting the shop swap them out. Be sure to demand the old sensors back before they start and PROVE the parts are bad. They can be checked; the part swappers will be less inclined to gouge you. 2007 Saturn Outlook, 185000km (110 000mi) De Gunk 3x @ 175/180/185km Replaced Brake Pedal sensor (fail) Cleaned MAF/ throttle body (temporary success) and removed lots of oil/condensation from breather intake. (I also noticed that the problem is exacerbated when the crankcase is more full of oil/ after oil changes and recurs when the temperature drops below 0ºC/32ºF) -Will be removing/ drilling PCV. If fail then cleaning/replacing the sensors if necessary. Dave, smart to use a laser pointer and stay to the point. Thanks

Hey David,you were spot on with that fix,I too had the same problem last year as I also own a 2008 Buick Enclave,also I replaced that small hose going from the cover to the hose going into the mass air flow sensor which I cleaned also,i also cleaned the throttle body too and my vehicle run perfectly up until last week and I think the problem is that long tube running from the top of the engine going down to the pcv valve and that's the only thing I didn't clean or change last year everything else I did,so I have to thank you for posting this simple fix for the Enclave owners because the dealerships would charge you an arm and a leg to fix this issue

I bought my enclave about two months ago and have been having this issue the last month or so. I was going to take it to the dealer tomorrow. But after watching this, I went and checked the hose you replaced. Sure as shit, the plastic engine cover had worn a hole through the hose and there is oil everywhere, which leads me to believe that check valve or what ever is clogged. I'll be going tomorrow to get the things I need to try this out. Thank you for saving me hundreds! Haha

As a rule, any time there is oil getting in the air intake snorkel or the intake anywhere, that's unwanted. Unfortunately, as the engine wears and you get more blowby this will only get worse with mileage. I would recommend checking your intake snorkel at each oil change.

David, thank you for sharing your experiment. Taking car to mechanic is not less than 1800 dollars. Your fix is great and I have Buick Enclave 2013; had the same issue once and it went away. The mechanic who had replaced alternator two weeks ago told me it has a weird code 3020 or 2030 and told me I have to replace gas paddle with (has other stuff like sensor, transmitter etc) would cost me $150 for parts and $150 for two hours of labor. I was late that evening and decided to get it done on Monday. I believe I have to change the air filter also, and check those hoses and valves you showed here. I do not have any warnings any more but car is running like it is on low gear. Again, thank you for the tips you shared with us. I clicked "like" on your video. Thank you sir.

Good video with good advice. I cleaned all of my vacuum lines, cleaned and drilled out the PCV valve, but the problem persisted. Turned out to be a faulty throttle position sensor. Had to buy a new throttle body, but the problem went away and my 08 is running good again.

I did the same thing on my Chevy traverse, the only thing I did different was that the “ pcv “ valve on the back of the engine was almost clogged up. And with a mechanic advice i just opened the 2 little holes 1-2 numbers bigger . Everything worked for 3-4years and today the Tection control acted up again. Time to clean up again

Good stuff! Just make sure you let the sensors dry for at least a half hour before reinstalling. Also some fuel system cleaner with PEA and clean your throttle body. Be careful if its drive by wire.

A lot of people say its the amp that causes the radio to go out. That wasn't the case for me. I fixed my radio by taking it apart and replacing the amplifier chip IC TDA7562. The chip cost like $8.

Spot on....i purchased a buick lucerne...and I had a combo issue....check engine and stabilitrak...brought it to a mechanic for an oil change...he found...oil leaks at bottom of car...and the wrong oil filter...replaced a but oil plug....and the check engine light disappeared...when I brought it to a buick place for repairs....they pulled codes and told me I needed to replace to egr valve and gasket...and really couldnt understand why until i fixed it

good video, I was getting po171, po174 as well as co710 and c0561. Some readers may also want to check for a vacuum leak behind the steering pump reservoir, above the where the left rear spark plug is. There is a 1 inch metal line coming off the intake, that has a rubber stopper over it. If your not careful, when you change the rear spark plugs, and you reach around behind the intake on the left side. you can knock this plug off and give you a huge vacuum leak and hard downshifting. there is a video somewhere of how to find it.

That part is called a PCV orifice. That clog affects the throttle position sensor on the throttle body and for some reason throws that stability code. I recommend modding that orifice or cleaning it at oil changes. Also now that you have the clog removed I recommend digging in a little deeper to clean the oil build up out of your engine. Remove the throttle body and clean the throttle plate. There will be excessive oil residue on the back of it (do not manually move the throttle plate by hand it will throw the position sensor off). Also remove the upper plenum and clean the oil out of it also. The variable timing solenoid is mounted inside the plenum and is most likely soaked in oil. You will notice the better performance from your vehicle.

I had the same lean conditions. the mechanic did some work on my car and didn't put the boot back on properly. I cleaned the mass air control sensor and changed the silver part, throttle body that's what controls the air flow. no more hesitation. I'm here for stabilitrack. saw a you tube video that the brake sensor was part of that problem.

Low brake fluid means your brake pads are pretty worn. If you got low brake fluid and good meat on the pads still. You have bad brake problem

You may want to change them hoses, and the purge valve as well as they all are going to be junked up. Its literally 15 for the purge valve, 15 for the fitting, 15 for the hose, change the air filter, change your oil. Otherwise you're only checking the partial problem. It's all on Amazon for really cheap. This will take all the variables away and will have the car run more efficiently and be more reliable.

My 08 enclave was giving me code U0073 and telling me service stibilitrak/park aid off/traction control off, like you said start with the cheapest so I cleaned the 2 small hoses, the snorkel to the throttle body and the throttle body itself, so far no code and she's running like a top, thanks for posting this video and solving my problem, much appreciated.

I believe the reason it fixed the stabilitrak warning is the engine timing is tied to the stabilitrak and a lean running condition will make the ecm change the timing and it will also cause the engine bog down and that causes issues with the ecm's predicted engine rpm and wheel speed and it thinks something is wrong with the traction control system

The stabiltrak went off because you changed the manifold pressure, the map sensor is working . a cracked cap on vacuums test port behind manifold will also trip the stabiltrak .

Thanks man. I gotta check out the girlfriends 2017 enclave. We have a service stabilitrak error on dash…with the “traction control light on” (traction off” ) also, when I give the car “more than normal” gas at takeoff it JOLTS like crazy , 3 chugs like your braking and accelerating at the same time. I’ll have to get in this as it just started yesterday. I DO NOT HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT though… hmm?
