What an irony, most of the parts that he toss just away are the parts I need to finish my HHR

Butcher! So close yet so far....... I was hoping you were going to completely tear that housing down since it is a 18yr. mystery. It seems no one has Dissected one since implementation and the massive Recall. There are a few plastic parts in the main Housing barrel between the Key cylinder and the Ignition switch. That is where the Constant Key Chime Fault resides. Mine is actually broken into 2 pieces and binds inward toward the Ign. Switch making it think the key is always in the ignition. ***As for removing the Ignition switch, the Key cylinder has to be in the Run position or removed. In the Off position the Switch is locked to the housing.

clock spring don't look to bad to get to. but doing all that wouldn't it be better to just replace the whole steering component? idk maybe, maybe not.
