As an owner. Do not be afraid of the car. Being afraid of it is what will get you killed. Listen to it, pay attention and this car is a downright pleasure to drive and very predictable. The powerband is very smooth. So while "raw" it is a predictable power curve and delivery. Inspires confidence, for those that are paying attention. The interior is similar to other cars in its class, just not as covered in fake leather. Great seats though. The pedal box is not as narrow, nor as slanted, as everyone says it is. I occasionally drive in steel-toe work boots and I have never clipped the brake pedal, and rarely clip the clutch pedal while coming off the dead pedal. I would point out that due to the size of the tires, it will try to follow all the various road defects, sometimes called tramlining. It is a very stiff suspension, so potholes or other larger dips, bumps or cracks should be avoided for the smoothest ride. No, you won't go into a wall the second you hit one, unless you were already doing something crazy. The AC works, but it does get tired fairly quickly as it just simply gets over-powered by the amount of heat built up by the engine and exhaust system. Do not put run flats on this car. Do not put cheap tires on this car. Do not drive on old tires.

When I test drove mine, I felt every bit of what you said. I was legitimately scared of it at first and the stories didn’t help. Now that I know the car, I understand it demands respect but it is also perfectly balanced and incredibly grippy and capable. I freaking love this car!

I always called my Yellow Viper a “sexy dumb blond”. She looked so good but riding her was very rough and hot as hell. Yes, it was my 4th car in the garage. Kind miss her every now and then.

Great review, I am switching from Hellcat to Viper and I honestly feel the Hellcat is more visceral and in your face power. The viper has more of a race car feel. Awesome machines! How many miles were on this Viper?

I love the viper and not sure about the newer ones, but I feel the older ones were too cramped inside and needed better suspension and the side exhaust would make it hotter inside. Just my opinion! U can share what u think. No need to trash me.

Honestly, you're not wrong. But all of those "flaws" also become part of the experience as a whole. It becomes a give & take, personal preference of what you're willing to deal with in a high performance coupe.

It's trying to be an analog '80s supercar, in an era when supercars are trying to be luxury cars. It hit the mark dead on! It's just the mark it hit isn't popular anymore.

@@GTPremiumReviews It's a damn shame. People credit the NSX for getting supercar manufacturers to improve their cars and make them more comfortable, but I genuinely believe it was the Viper that did it. Rich snooty people with buyers remorse suddenly started acting like they cared so much more about build quality and materials in their supercars instead of pure performance, because the Viper was so much better for so much cheaper.

@@yackson4804 Yes, I am real, I own a 2006 Viper, that I have tracked. Yes, it is a race car. Yes, if you aren’t careful, you can get into some trouble. I have owned it since it was new, the only trouble that I got into was when a front tire wore out on the outside edge and I went off track.
