2008 FIRST Game Animation - Overdrive

Animation describing the 2008 FIRST Robotics Competition game, Overdrive. Robots race around "the track" while pitching large balls up and over "the overpass." Sort of like combining NASCAR and throwing large medicine balls. Animation first shown during the FRC kick-off broadcast in January, 2008. Draft audio before Blair Hundertmark did the final voice-over.

9 Months late, but several teams ran variants of crab drive, the ancestor to Swerve, including one Einstein champion (148). Crab largely fell out of favor in years after (displaced by West Coast Drive) only to make a comeback in the form of Swerve in recent years. Other crab robots that were particularly successful in 2008 include 16 and 111. The former of which, was an Einstein finalist!
