This is a project I've been putting off on the wife's daily beater. Getting to it tomorrow after the new clips come in the mail. Figured I would order them before trying to put it back together.

Good luck with the project. The clips can be a PITA. You never know which ones you need until they start breaking off. A good kit with a mix of clips for Hondas is the way to go. I just finished working on an '03 and an '07 Honda Accord. Every clip was broken or missing.

Damn! What a struggle to replace one headlight man! HA! I'm gonna have to do this for my daughter's 2008 CR-V, I assumed all the top screws, retainers, bolts, etc..., I'd have to do, but I never expected to remove the bumper cover and all that bottom stuff:) JEEZ! Glad I watched though for sure, and why Honda had to use 4 different screws in the same headlight is absurd. Guess they're just making Honda dealers happy and rich:) LMAO!

It is really odd that they made it this way. Maybe they thought it would be less likely that an owner would have to replace the light housing and more likely that they would just replace the bulbs. I don't know. I discovered this last week that it isn't just the CRV. You have to do the same thing on the 2007 Honda Accord too. I guess the idea of slide in, slide out headlights was too much or too easy. I am sure many people who intend on doing this give up as soon as they realize what is involved. It's not difficult, but it is very time consuming. Also, be prepared to buy retainers. With the age of the car everything tends to break easily.

Just what the doctor ordered, thanks. And thanks for the new term for a Phillips head screw driver, also cool.

Thank you. Glad to help out. I always knew it as a "cross-tip" screwdriver growing up. Didn't hear "Phillips" until I was in my twenties.

Half done, only removed it, would of been nice to see new put back together, then showed how, 2nd video that I give about 3, thats for the chail color markings, good idea that I liked, even though, most are the same, just don't have to worry about them not fitting at all. That brings up to a 4 1/2 stars, would of been 5 if finished it all. What's another, 15 plus minutes, be nice to knon if any issues going back together, then if so, what was it, and how did you solve it. Just 1/4 of the job done, there's another headlight assembly that might need replacing and if foggy like right then left to for the price

I appreciate the criticism, but you really should have moved on and found the video that meets all of your needs. Not sure if you are grading on a 5-star system or a 10-star system. I have no idea what your last sentence means. Oh yeah, this video was never intended to be a headlight removal video. The video was originally about accessing the windshield wiper reservoir, which involved removing the right front headlight to gain full access. You would see a lot of similarities if you looked up the other video on my channel. These headlights were never replaced due to fogging. You can see that they were polished in one of my other videos.

I don't get why car companies have to make this shit so hard, like why not just make a quick disconnect lever or something to remove the entire front part of the headlight and then have the bulb go into that?
@RoCDIY6 ай бұрын
I could say that they do it to make more money from customers, but it is probably far from the truth. However, I do think that the ability for customers to do their own repairs is probably not a consideration when developing a car.

Geez. Got to take the whole front end apart

Yeah, great design. It is a lot of work and not fun.

@@RoCDIY that’s intentional for sure. Companies don’t want us doing our own work.

@@knownote That's for sure. Went through the same thing on a Ford F150 just to remove the Ford emblem on the grille.
