Probably because I only make and post videos when I have time. And you need to be really consistent on KZbin to stay on top and in the suggested videos constantly. For the last year and a half I was posting far less because I became a father. I've been trying to stay on schedule and post a new video every Saturday again. If the KZbin algorithm works it'll help put my videos up into more random suggested vids. But KZbin is only for fun for me. I just like to share what I'm up to regardless of how many views they get. I'm nobody special, neither are my cars, but I'm super grateful for every single person that watched them, such as yourself. Thanks again!

First and foremost... great video, nice editing and sweet shop to whomever owns it. Secondly, to the Fit owner. Looks like you enjoyed your shake down event on those coilovers. I'm curious about your thoughts on them... Maxspeed actually reached out to me on Fit Freak sometime ago and I honestly questioned the quality of these coilovers from the jump especially at their listed price. Damper body wise they looked like a generic set based on the Asia and Europe spec Fits (which have the smaller M12 strut bolt holes if I remember right that ya'll drilled out to work with our US cars). Damper valving was a bigger thing that I questioned since I fairly regularly do autocross and track attack (higher speed autocross on road courses basically) events in the Houston area. Was there any adjustability at all? Even then, do the dampers seem like they're somewhat compatible with that 10/8k spring rate? So many questions were in my head that put me off even testing them as I didn't want to risk throwing my club's championship (and time) in the wind. I'm honestly glad to see someone was willing to try their kit out and documented it. Just really curious of the findings both on and off track.
@GarageBuiltHondas3 жыл бұрын
I'll ask him to respond to this comment after the next event in about a month. That way he can have a better set of tires on all 4 corners and really throw it around on track. I'll try and do the same once he let's me drive it again.
@NocturnalJunkie3 жыл бұрын
@@GarageBuiltHondas Cool beans! It would be interesting to get two perspectives on the same setup. Also, if the owner hasn't yet... I'd encourage having the torsion beam's alignment checked and if needed adjusted with shims. Those things are usually at some goofy, uneven alignment spec when new and shimming them made a night and day difference on my GD.
@gregblau80823 жыл бұрын
Do you know how much lowering affects the measurements? When I did my mustang it was only .2 out on the front camber and the tires wore very evenly. My ge was pretty dead on last time. I’ll definitely get it aligned whenever I do the coilovers but I don’t have access to a rack so it would be beneficial if I didn’t have to go get parts after my buddy it.
@GarageBuiltHondas3 жыл бұрын
It'll add anywhere from 1 to 3° negative camber, not sure how much toe is affected on these vehicles. He had his Fit aligned after we did the install and before the track day
@NocturnalJunkie3 жыл бұрын
@@gregblau8082 Pretty much what was said by GBH. Generally speaking lowering increases negative camber and increases positive toe (toe in) on the Fit. In addition to that, camber can also be affected by the strut design (fixed bolt hole or slotted) and whether you use the factory strut bolts, crash bolts from Honda (Have a thinner body allowing for some movement, 2 to 3 tenths of a degree per bolt.), or of course camber bolts.

Car looks not much better than stock with all the sway spring rate seems off since it just falls/collapse in the corners. You do not want the shock fully collapsed in a corner , you still want some travel in case you hit a bump or something it is suppossed to keep the contact patch on the ground as much as possible . I guess no sway bars added or stiffer links? You can see at 4:05 the car is sitting low in the rear at the shop positive camber front wheels probably fixed with an aligment on the rack or by hand with levels and string. 5:00 at track same stance not corrected. 6:30 the carz azz end slides out due to this have the same issues with mine(driving in the snow with no rear snows the cars do 360s on simple turns). I find the rear sags with stock set up like yours in the back and changes the bias. Raise the rear to where it should be and car handles differently . When we swap shocks and struts(stock) we get back to proper position . Maybe try it set up that way and see the difference . And of course something in the sway bar department (rear strut tower bar might help to nit sure who makes them might have to fab Mugen did a bad azz Fit/SC not sure if they sell products). Another thing I use are Sumosprings/Longarces racing/TTC/ Moroso rubber donuts in the springs to raise the height in the rear springs and stop the sag of spring. Lotsa of videos on youtube of these donuts in use also used often in circle track racing Longarces have different rates avail. This single thing will make a huge adjustment(cheap to other than the sumosprings).You can also use them in the front. If you turn your steering wheel fast and the car sways like that so fast , it is not set up proper, clearly not for track days anyways. Yes you will always notice a difference with new struts and springs , and over lowering springs as most people cheap out and do not replace the shocks. Lots of room to go forward for sure . Again with the rear trailing arm it bucks and throws your line off causing the spin outs by transfering the energy to the other side unsettling the cars foot print. A sway bar would change this allot also the rubber donuts limit travel not allowing as much movement . Watch other cars and see how much they move at the track in the corners . They also make some dash board timers readers that record allot of this info for cheap. Lap times etc so you can see real time changes. Love my Honda Fit , the also tow pretty well , as I tow my Harley's with it .
