I went the full weekend in 07 and 08, and before that I used to skip school and go down for the practice sessions when in 05/06. Couldn't afford the full tickets back then XD haha. I really wish they'd bring them back to the Gold Coast. Melbourne shouldn't get all the fun with the F1! haha. Although, I've gone down to that the past few years, which is also a blast.

Yes I know the Gold Coast 600 is the main event at Surfers Paradise nowadays but it would be nice to see IndyCar come back Down Under. It's one of five circuits I think they should have back on the calendar. Real shame they don't go there anymore.

I was wondering is it possible to get a download link for this? Going to the Indy at the gold coast was my first experience with open wheel racing, got to go a few times this race included, would love to have it where I don't have to chew through my net everytime I want to watch it haha.

though everyone hates the IR05 chassis, it really seemed to handle well around Surfer's Paradise.

@@rosy_kykhn TBH my reaction to the thumbnail was not good! It was "good Lord, these things are ugly" (compared to the Panoz DP01 or indeed any classic CART USAC Indycar). IMO something like a 1990 or 1991 CART Indycar looks far more gorgeous in the thumbnail.

@@TassieLorenzo i physically can't hate these things, whereas any CART car from 1994 or 1995 to 2006 is probably second only to the aerokit DW12s in terms of how goddess-awful they look. the DP01 was really too little too late for a series that was functionally dead before 2003 even started, no matter how gorgeous of a car it was, which i will agree the DP01s did look good. but nothing will ever look (or sound) as good as the IR-05, that is a simple fact of reality.

What years did you go? I went in 07 and 08, this is what really made me fall in love with open wheelers, i'll never forget those awesome turbos, and aspirated v8's :D

Las Vegas and Kentucky are good too. but the cars even with restrictor plates aren't made to run on ovals. the chance of them causing the "Big One" of IndyCar are off the roof, but Technology has it's advancements and things will get better. Ovals are still entertaining and should still be in the season.
