Man I’m still trying to understand “how” the clutch engages to the drum? The shoes are connected to the piston , which in turn spins but how does the drum spin the shoes? Mine revs but doesn’t go anywhere. I followed exactly what you did hoping a light bulb would go off in the process . I put it back how you did but still doesn’t engage . Im missing a vital step of understand how it engages. I bought mine used, and it was missing washers that go between the hub and nut. Could that have something to do with it?

Are the clutch blocks tight to the hub or do they have a little play there?

Do you need The clutch puller to get The clutch out?

So you use 250cc oil in the trans? Mine calls for 150cc? Are you just using more then recommended?

Very good video, here in Argentina I have a 65 cc motorcycle that is the copy of this engine and starts the movement at very high revolutions. I will start approving. Any advice? Thank you!!!

That's pretty easy it's right behind the water pump cover, drain antifreeze remove cover and its two Allen bolts, getting ready for race season now.

How much play should there be on the shoes after everything is done and tight ?
@davidporreca63583 жыл бұрын
Mike, it’s been a long time however if I remember it varies due to the wear and tear on the existing washers. I never measured the play after everything was torqued down. It was minimal.

I know this is an older video. I recently picked up an 07 ktm 50 sr. When i put this washer stack in my bolts stick out further then the clutch shoes. The shoes dont seem overly worn out. What can i do to fix this issue

Where does the clutch stop go?

You didn't change the needle bearing and washer.

Okay I just got a 05 for my girl I Dnt want it to aggressive so how that works on washer
@davidporreca63584 жыл бұрын
Markie, it’s been a while for me, however if she is just starting out I would go with the springs instead of the washers, if u can’t seem to locate them go with the stack I used. It will take some playing around with to get what works for her, the big thing is keeping them clean

Do you torque the clutch cover nuts?? Or use loctite on them?
@davidporreca63589 жыл бұрын
+rvgaines Sorry for delay no loctite, no torque just snug. These clutches run hot and the gaskets always stick.
@davidporreca63589 жыл бұрын
Nah I change it too often, just bring them snug, fill with oil run it to temp, if there are no leaks your good

I have an 07 ktm sx. I replaced the clutch and housing but the bike still doesnt engage. Ive tried 3 different stacks and still nothing. Does anyone have any info on this? Bike starts and runs great just out of the blue there was no engagement.
