A bit dismissive of Wicklow. That was a good team. In 2009, they beat Down to reach the last 12. Down lost the All Ireland Final in 2010 by a point to Cork.

@@gaeilge0900 you're right, and I guess I was there. The wicklow team the following year were a fine team. Glynn, Stafford and Hyland was the best corner back in the country at the time. They gave Kildare a great game in a classic in Portlaois. Seanie Furlong caused havoc.

Bit of a strange one Kildare where much stronger then and probably under achieved under geezer Moorefield where in the top 3 senior football clubs in Ireland at the time , some unbelievable players at disposal for Kildare. 2 years later they where unlucky not to win Sam McGuire
