If you want to use the clutch in between shifts be my guest, but if you know how to shift without using a clutch it is safe to do so without harm. the only time I use clutch is when I'm at a stop in 1st or downshifting and I've done this for years without a single issue. Quickshifters are meant for shifting quickly without the need to roll the throttlke off, hence the name quickshifter.

@EmyY2J sorry ftriend, im having bad day...yeah it's quickshifter, allows you to change the gear without using a clutch so it'squicker to change, basically used in racing but you can use it on roads to but there is not much point in doing that...cheers

Kinda hard to fuck up your gears when motorcycles are designed to go clutchless. Thats because its a sequential transmission (you have to shift in order, meaning you can't shift from 5th to 1st or vise versa without going into the other gears), they are constant mesh gears (meaning there are no neutral in between gears except in between 1st and 2nd only and no synchronizer rings to have the gears catch up to speed when you shift).

Been riding that way for years on CR500, Firestorm 1000, TDR 250, DT200R, Banshee, KTM 690 Duke (all still owned) and no gear issue at all. No tension at all on the gears as I keep revving just a little down and they gear in without clutch. I use the clutch when I gear down only and frist gear obviousl ;) Thanks for your advise anyway.

No need of any quickshifter, I do it with my bike, only need the clutch in first gear then the rest without.

then you will fuck up your gear, shafts and selector, when you changing you gears without using a clutch and without qs then your gear teeths are geting wear out and sooner or longer your gears will be fucket, why do you thing manufactures puting qs? so you dont fuck up your gears. you putting so much tesion on gears when you switch without clutch. qs is there to help you not to make something worse. keep doing this and you will pay for gear replacement.

No it's not a stupid gixxer! Look at the dual undertail exhaust, Yamaha tuning fork emblems on the tank, upside down swingarm, Yamaha blue paint with the yamaha stripes on the inner fairing still attached to the bike. Smh.
