I purchased their replacement back and seat cover for my 2012 Ram 3500 driver side. Super good quality. Not the easiest of jobs but very doable. MOPAR foam just disintegrates so get the Durafoam. This video made the job much easier. The Seat Shop covers are actually leather, not the MOPAR leather or what we used to call vinyl.

Thank you so much for this video! I purchased a replacement driver seat cushion for my 2017 Ram 1500 from the SeatShop. I also purchased the hog ring pliers and rings. Following your guidance I was able to remove my truck seat, remove the plastic pieces and seat cover without breaking anything, swapped out the foam cushion and reattached my seat warmer/cooler, and put everything back together. The seat is way more comfortable and I saved some money DIY. Thanks again!

Great video guys - I watched this 2X and then installed factory Mopar/Katskin leather seats on my 2012 RAM 1500 Big Horn and it turned out beautiful. A local shop wanted $1200 to do the install, and I really didn't want to pay that amount. I did the entire job myself - no one held anything down or helped in any way. It is totally doable as a 1-person job. I did the front seats on one day and the rear seats on another day (it was over 100 degrees in my garage in Arizona). I ordered your Durofoam driver's seat cushion, and my 10-yr old truck with 192K miles feels and smells like new! One thing that could have made the job a little easier is depleting all the lumbar support before removing the driver's seat - the extra curvature made the back cushion clips (at the bottom) much more difficult to connect. I was most nervous about the hog rings, but I had no problem installing those and getting a really tight, clean fit. Although I have a steamer, I did not have to use it to smooth out wrinkles. My original fabric looks nearly brand new (no rips, tears, stains, etc), since I had installed custom leather seat covers on all the seats since I purchased the truck. So I had to remove both the seat covers and the original cloth before I could proceed, but it was all worth it. Thanks!

This is great. I have been overhauling the interior and finally got around to replacing the seat covers. I found the J-clips to remove quite easily even on dealer installed aftermarket custom leathers by pushing each clip in opposing directions. It un-snaps both halves in one go. Applicable to the uppers. Now, the part that baffles me is the hog clips that attaches and cinches the skin down to the foam - how the hell do they manufacture this inside the cover like that. I didn't have issues removing the hog clips from the lowers. I used a combo of screwdriver and snap-ring pliers to spread em open and then looped them through. Later on in the day, a friend of mine informed me that upholstery shops simply use dikes and snip 'em off and just install new ones later. It will be interesting to see how one approaches those hog clips in the upper seat back in the video here.

Can the bottom skin be replaced without removing the cushion? Also did you disconnect the battery before removing the seat because of the airbag? Thanks for a great video and I'm sure it will help with the replacement!

Hi Dave and thanks for reaching out, our covers are not slip-on covers they will replace your older used covers which need to be removed. We do not disconnect the battery for the airbags but if you feel the need to do so we would suggest adjusting the seat to a neutral position beforehand.

I just unpacked my covers and noticed the top cover doesn't have any holes in the top for the headrest. Is this normal and am I supposed to cut the holes myself?

Hey Paul, on many of our covers, we do not pre-cut the holes. You can do this during the installation once you've got the cover installed on the backrest.
