That was a great Yankees team they had probably the greatest infield well ever see,great balanced,quality left handed bats and the great Mo at the end

The Angels had been a thorn in the Yankees side throughout the 00's, in postseason play in 2002 and 2005, and during the regular season series games of the Guerrero/Figgins era. There was something about Scioscias style of aggressive play that meshed with those guys so well, and the old fart Yankees of that time were almost stymied by them at each match up. 2009 felt like sweet, sweet revenge, as that Angels core was past it's peak and no longer up to par.

Ha ha nice try but no, the Angels were actually overall younger than the Yankees in 2009. The Yankees simply were the better team and outplayed the Angels throughout the series. 2009 Angels Lineup age Avg - 29 Starting Pitching staff age Avg - 27 Total team age Avg - 29.7 2009 Yankees Lineup age Avg - 31 Starting Pitching staff age Avg - 30 Total team age Avg - 30.8 So you see, this had nothing to do with age since the Angels were actually the younger team.

I honestly think it was Girardi's coaching that finally got Yanks past Angels. Torre was more "wait til a HR" style but that 2009 Yankees team was able to beat you soooooo many ways, ESPECIALLY on the bases. Joe's binder book coaching actually got them through that series
@vladiator81202 жыл бұрын
I remember this series. The Yankees jumped on the Angels early in the series. The Yankees just overwhelmed them and outplayed them all throughout, even in the 2 games the Angels won. The Yankees just wouldn't be denied that year.

We could’ve done the same thing to this year Astros but that 2009 Yankee team had grit.

Lmao I remember watching this game and in the bottom of the 8th when the Angels pitcher threw a bad ball to first base (sailed it), I was like "why is the ball going so high" 😂😂😂

Jon Snow as a non biased observer I can see from watching all 6 of these in depth recap videos that the angels did kind of give this series away but despite that it still went 6 games which should tell you something

@@DrunkenSlob Who cares? They should learn how to play decent defense then lol
@DrunkenSlob4 жыл бұрын
Jon Snow you just said it. Better on defense. In all 4 wins there were crucial innings where the angels gave it away with poor defense and other bad decisions

Underachieving overpaid bums is more like it this year. Beltran Mcann and Tex all had terrible years. Pitching has been very good despite the injuries. Lineup has flat out sucked. Jeter is a shadow of his former self. Should have retired after 2012. Very disappointed in the Yankees
@avalsonline210 жыл бұрын
well, beltran and mccann are old and on the decline. as for tex, the guy has been battling injuries thal last couple of years.
